I just saw the new Extralite 327C wheels arrive at R2-bike, and was super impressed with the weight. Not a huge fan of those spokes, but the rim being hooked, reasonably wide (21c), tubeless compatible, and 970g is really impressive!

Would love to hear real world experiences of these!

Didn't cyclespeed have these on his sub 6kg Ostro?

Edit: oh no, he has tubulars.

I was really surprised seeing these on R2 bike, because I hadn't seen a single media publication or anything on it. There is not many sets of wheels like this.
Even something like ENVE 2.3, DT Aerolite, Extralite Cyberdisc, is around 60g heavier.

Hello everybody. I am considering the Extralite, the Spada wheels with ceramic bearings that are less than 1,000 grams
https://spadabike.com/products/strada-b ... 6703305771
and TSUNAMI CARBON PROJECT TCP that are 1,085 grams
http://www.tsunamicarbonproject.it/index.html
Winter project: frame SW SL7 Tarmac build size 58 Carbon/Chameleon Silver Green Color Run
Veloflex Corsa race tbl on size 25
Tempted by the heavy 33-46 11-36 Sram Red combo for the steepest climbs....but tempted also by the DURAACE 12S weight...
Roval Alpinist handlebar...
Sorry for the digression on the components...let's go back to the wheels...
Spada and TCP are hookless, Extralite are hooked that I like more...
Waiting also for first hand experiences because no one of these wheels have been reviewed anywhere...yet...

Yeah I didn’t see anything about them.. when they released the Gravel set they presented it on their Instagram handle, but these I saw them on R2 Instagram account first.. that’s odd
Which kind of spokes would you use? Going with berd? Or Sapim for some aero?
If going With the latter how much heavier?

Berd is a great option if the goal is too go as light as possible.
I'd probably go DT Aerolite, as a pretty aero, pretty light option (a little deeper than CX Ray, .1g lighter per spoke, too).
Berd spokes save 90g over hyperlight spokes on another wheel of Extralite.
That'd would be 4.4g per spoke for the Hyperlihght, which isn't event lighter than the DT AeroLite.
Not sure how much sense that'd make.

Thanks on point as always
90 grams isn’t bad at all on a wheelset, even though I’m leaning towards the ide dea that bere spokes are more suitable or a off-road setup - gravel one

ti spokes on gravel wheels is a good choice. they have just a wee bit of give to them that can dampen the ride.

Extralite updated their offering, now also with Berd Spokes:
905g is the claimed weight. Considering R2 measured the metal spoke Version to be 10g lighter than claimed, this might be the first sub 900g TL, Disc wheels set I've ever seen.

Hello. On their website hp they say 905 but then on the detailed page they state 910....

I was just extrapolating.
R2Bike has weighed their 327c at 970g unwrapped, no valves.
On other Extralite wheels the Berd spokes have usually saved some 80 to 95g over the "hyperlight" spokes. If that applied here as well (and I wouldn't know why not), it's not unlikely some wheels could come out to something crazy like 885g.
The rest is probably production discrepancy. Maybe R2 bike got an especially light sample, since Extralite know they'll put it on a scale.

XD-15 bearings are no heavier in my experience. My Extralite SPD-3 weigh exactly as much as the non Ceramic ones that R2 had on their scales.

Thank you. Very tempted then...trying to find out about the after sale service. On trustpilot they are not in a good position...

Have very "good experience" of the extralite wheelset a few years back, it literally cracks and bearing breaking down easily and getting no good support or warranty  I understands this is weight weenies.....but I will not touch it if, being a high mileage user and historical bad experiences :unbelievable:

If you are light weight....might be worth trying. I weight between 72 to 78kg between the years and season
