There seems to be an extra spacer under Bernal's cleat?

Yes something with his back and leg lenght discrepancy, the difference in stack is really big between his feet

That looks like 5 of the 2mm Shimano cleat spacers. That's a big discrepancy in leg length!

It was reported in January that his leg length difference was 1.7cm, a big discrepancy indeed.

Correcting leg length discrepancies with so many spacers like that never has great success. His body has developed and adapted to that discrepency as he has grown and developed as a rider. The asymmetry is systemic and cannot be fixed in such a crude way. His injuries and imbalance will move somewhere else in the short term, until that part also suffers fatigue and injury.

It doesn't portend a long career. Hopefully he can overcome this and continue to race successfully for many seasons to come.

His only hope is if the imbalance is functional rather than anatomical. Anatomical discrepancies cannot really be corrected. The body has adapted to them and trying to interfere with the adaptions never ends with success.

I have a full centimeter leg length discrepancy. My pedaling is much more smooth after gradually adding 1mm shims over the course of a few years.

With a full centimeter of shims, I sit on the bike square without leaning to one side.

The shims do make a great difference.

Will all Shimano sponsored team have new bike today or tomorrow at La Vuelta?
Or will we see the new DA at the Worlds? Wout Van Aert?

I don't think we see the new DA at the Vuelta. Would mean a lot of extra work for the mechanics and imagine Roglic having a mechanical now. But of course, I would love to see the new DA in action. The worlds on the other hand, yes I think we'll see it there.

A reflection for those real tech nerds on yesterdays' Vuelta stage.
Let's be honest it was probably the key-stage of this years' Vuelta.
Bernal planned an attack from far. Kudo's to Roglic and Bernal.
My question, as being Bernal part of Team 'marginal gains, why riding the Shimano C60 wheels?
I'm convinced these C60 wheels are the most aero option they have at Ineos.
but this being a cricial mountain-stage with a steep finish, why not riding the LW or Princeton wheels?
It was a rainy day, out of my experience LW wheels suck in the rain, Princeton and Shimano I do not know.

Most probably due to weather forecast and braking.

I would say 100% because of the wet conditions. Usually we see Ineos with LWs on mountain stages with steep climbs, provided good and dry conditions.
