Garmin 1030 is an unnecessary brick and not needed unless you have awful sight and need the screen size.

Having owned them all, the Garmin 830 is by far the best Garmin on the market.

while I resemble that remark 8) ... the 1030 was released quite a bit before the 830. I probably would have chosen the 830 if they had be out at the sametime....thus I have a 1030.

Exactly this. When my 520's battery got down to barely 9 hours per charge, there were only three Garmin upgrade paths: 520 Plus, 820 and 1030. I went with the 1030 because it had amazing battery life and it had a much more responsive UI than the 820.

Why would your Edge 520 go mad when some sweat drops on it? Do you mean 820?

If you are replacing an 820 go for a 530, looks really good and has nicer colour screen.
Yes I was confused, it's an 820. Will take a look at the 520 and other options mentioned.

Can you confirm the under stem spacers spacers work with the Tarmac stem in the Venge? I asked a shop who stocks both and they just said it doesn't work as stems are different. I suspect they had not tested it though.
Yeah, I'm looking also and currently can't see that they'll be compatible. But eager to find if someone has made it work.
I installed mine yesterday it doesnt look perfect. The Venge stem is much wider and sits perfect;y above the bottom spacer. The SL7 stem is a bit narrow and sits on inside of spacer.Im stopping by the local bikeshop today and see if they have an SL7 spacer to fit below the stem to fit to spec.
Doing the lord's work good sir.
Im not giving up though.I just need to find the SL7 spacer kit now.Ill try an assemble it all together and it should fit better.Venge headset is much bulkier than the SL7.There is definetly a noticable weight difference on the stem.Any ideas where to find the SL7 spacer kit?

Doesn't the Venge come with a transition spacer that you can use to fit other stems? I would have thought that should work ok, no? Curious to see the pics on how it looks: the SL7 stem is very much on my radar as an almost definite buy to save some 50g.

Hi all, new here.

Does anyone know if theres a c bear cermaic bottom bracket available that fits the venge? I had a sram dub ceramic bb but had to replace it, shop didn't have much in stock as everywhere is low at the min so just put a standard bb in. But i would like another ceramic if i can, although the sram one is mega expensive.

And does anyone use a c bear one? I had a look at the size charts but can't understand it much. I think it will take a T47 sram dub.

Has anyone here put a direct mount rear derailleur hanger on their Venge?

If so, any issues and which are you using? I only seem to be able to find one by wheels manufacturing.

If he does that the venge will not only be faster but also risk being lighter (than the non sworks sl7 version)

It's because we are struggling with the front clx64 the gf is only 50kg and often uses my deep wheels at events, it's often big cross winds where we live. Major bonus to drop 250grams for her on her sl6, and I'm happy to ditch the 64s for the new rapides. Not worried about being clincher only as at events if there is a problem with a puncture, then simply swap tubes and crack on.
Mine is the purple pro Venge, just deciding on or get the black or white rapide as mine has specialized in black, hers is in white.
It'll be 28mm rear, but undecided if to do 26 or 28mm front, either s-works or vitoria g2.

Yep, no problem. Just fitted them - have not yet ridden (tomorrow!) Loads of clearance left.

Does anyone have any experience with filing the transition spacer for 6degree stem down to make it work with the 12degree stem? Spend ages waiting for the headset kit (S182500011) to arrive only to realise Specialized screwed me on needing yet another special part as it's seemingly not included in the set.
