I like the look of the new Domane much more than the Emonda. It really looks nice in this pic!MisterNoChain wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 9:47 pmA picture from Trek Segafredo's twitter. The new Aeolus RSL 37 wheels.

Weight, enjoy the feel and the maintenance, don't want another thing to keep up with batteries on, etc. All the same reasons that have already been discussed in other threads ad nauseum...icantaffordcycling wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 9:33 pmWhy would u willingly buy mechanical hydro shifters in that price range.
Don't get me wrong, I have a TT bike with Di2 and I'd never have another without electronic shifting. But for my lightweight road bike, I'm totally cool with mechanical. Just my preference. I understand it's not the smart choice, but it's my purchase, right?

their is a mistake on the weights for the emonda slr 9. we know dura ace is ~200gm lighter than axs.
2020 model

Dura-ace Di2
56 - 6.42 kg / 14.16 lbs
2021 model
Etap AXS
56 - 6.74 kg / 14.85 lbs
Dura-ace DI2

Current Rides:
2023 Tarmac SL7 Di2 9270
ex 2019 S-works SL6
ex 2018 Trek Madone SLR Disc
ex 2016 Giant TCRAdvanced Sl
ex 2012 Trek Madone7

ex 2019 S-works SL6
ex 2018 Trek Madone SLR Disc
ex 2016 Giant TCRAdvanced Sl
ex 2012 Trek Madone7
So the 'plan' is buy this and test it for 8-12 weeks. Then sell it when the new Tarmac lands
So get to test both. That would work in a normal year, but this year is logistically challenged so who knows.
I do know I have not ridden a new Trek in ages and am excited by it; spec looks great and the paint looks mint

6.74kg would be quite impressive. I would be very surprised if the Tarmac is this light, even with their stupid new Alpinist wheels.spartan wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 4:01 amtheir is a mistake on the weights for the emonda slr 9. we know dura ace is ~200gm lighter than axs.

Disagree. Big 1x chainring with tiny cassette gets me feeling a certain typa way.FlatlandClimber wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 7:23 amThe Domane with the 1x 50 or 52T Aero chainset looks f'in stupid.
Looks like a cobbles specific bike.

There is some interesting things going on with Specificaitons on AXS vs Di2 bikes
SRAM are pushing their PM option on flagship builds; you had this with S-Works last year and hopefully Trek do the same....
Shimano had a PM and it has been a bit of a disaster for them
SRAM have done a much better job integrating Quarq into standard spec
Now you are getting top of the range bikes with either AXS or DI2 options at the same price
One has 12 speeds, is wireless and has a PM.
One "seems" much better VFM
I can only assume that will be reflected in floor sales?
