The Ultimate Cervelo S1

I've been saving this one for a long time.....This was my first and still is my most cherished road bike. It is a 2010 Cervelo S1 in mint condition. It was my first road bike and I was very lucky to have received it because it was the last year Cervelo made the S1, and a shop just 2 hours away had one in stock that happened to be a 56cm. My Moots Vamoots RSL has custom geometry modeled after this bike because it is so good for me.

Originally Ultegra 6600, then Dura-Ace 9000 before becoming Super Record 12. The lightest it has been was 7.1 Kg with DA 9000 and DA C24 clinchers. The S1 is blazing fast, stable at speeds over 100kph, and has done more memorable rides with me than I can count. It showed me what a bike is capable of and has brought endless joy to me. I have owned several "super bikes" but will always consider the S1 my favorite. I used Calnago's "C64 inside and out" as a reference for my first Campy build, and hopefully this build can remain a small tribute to his incredible contributions here.

In the pantheon of "best/most important bikes of the 21st century" the Soloist/S1 is pretty high on the list. Love the build, those are some bling parts you've hung on it.

Thanks for the kind words! I completely agree. The pedigree of the S1/Soloist is incredible. Not only was it a pioneering entry of aerodynamics into road bikes but it was actually used at the pro-tour level. We'll never see a bike like this again I suspect.

Wow, awesome bike! That's the bike that got me in love with Cervelo when I started cycling around 2008/2009. I was only 17/18 then, but made sure I wanted to own a Cervelo one day.

Skip forward 10 years, 2 degrees and 2 years as an underpaid trainee and I've bought an S3 in a black/red colorway that matched my memory the best (which is your S1!) I've owned a few bikes and sold my first -doubting if sentiment would come back to haunt me one day- but now I'm pretty sure it won't.

In my mind the S3 (see signature for photo) is my first "real bike" that I'm never willing to sell. Might strip the parts and move them on to a next bike in a couple years, but when that happens the frame will just go up on the wall. Passing a few years I might just do the same like you, give it some TLC, new parts and still love it. The ride quality is definitely worth it to safe it for later. Not as harsh as you'd expect, fast and simply a blast.

Thanks for the nice words!!! I'm glad that you can relate! Your S3 looks awesome, that is a great bike and the paint scheme will always look good. You can't put a price on sentimental value or the good looks these Cervelo's have.
