Question: How does that Ultegra crank work for you? Since it's a road crank with a narrower (43.5?) chainline? Did you notice a difference? Thinking of putting an Ultegra crank as well, but 2x.

Running gp5000 32mm tubeless (topstone 105 aluminium) - constantly beating my PRs (2014 carbon Synapse Ultegra)...not scientific in any way, but my Synapse is 2kg less weight...

Yep! Just the stock 105, 11-34.

Chain is abit short , but I can deal with that when the original chain wears out!

No reason for picking the DA other than this used one I found for a bargain had a stages

Yes, used my Topstone carbon on road a bit. 28mm Specialized Hell of the north tubular tires on Ambrosio Crono F20 rims And tried Pirelli P-Zero 28mm on the stock rims (105 model) but the wheels felt heavy so not as fun as with my 1515g tubular wheels. Works great for road if not riding superfast I would say.

Quick question on Topstone AL sizing...

I ride a 54cm Supersix (2018, rim-brake) with stack/reach of 551/387.

This seems to be equivalent to a Small Topstone in terms of stack height, with a stack/reach of 549/377, but more to the Medium in terms of reach, with stack/reach of 579/385.

I'm guessing the fork length/axle-crown is longer on the Topstone to compensate for the difference in head tube length? (139 vs 118mm on the Small frame)

Does anyone here ride a 54cm Supersix and a Topstone? And if so, which size Topstone?

I'm kind of leaning towards the small Topstone, with the same stack and shorter reach which would accomodate the longer disc brake shifters...

How do you sit with spacers, stem lengths and saddleheight on your SuperSIX?

Reach is easy to fix with a longer stem, too high stack can be harder and doesn't look so good with a short very negative stem.

27mm of spacers, 100mm stem, 729mm saddle height on the Supersix.

No issues at all with it setup 1x, all working really nicely.

Tyre talk....I built mine up with gravelking SK 35mm I already had (bought for last year's three peaks - not grippy enough fyi!). They are great for mixed conditions, but when I go off road I still feel like I'm on a cross bike.
My franken-gravel bike was a 26" MTB I'd managed to squeeze some 650bx 42 tyres into, and I loved the float and cush from those.

I'm certain the 650x42s will be too low. I can't try at the moment as I need to convert to thru axle. Given I have both 650 and 700 wheels hanging around, I'm unsure what to go for.

Anyone run both and have any feedback? E.g. 650x47 and 700x42? Gut feel is if I was happy with 650x42 on my old bike, 700x42 will feel great but good to hear what people think.

I'll probably go with something with a light tread, like the SK. I don't need full on knobblies for what I ride, and the main use of the bike is to substitute road miles (commute or training) with more interesting mixed rides, so I still want it to feel like a road bike on tarmac

Currently use GP5000 Tubeless 32mm on my Topstone Alloy on DT CR1600 (22mm internal) since I'm riding more on (not so good) asphalt at the moment. They measure 33mm. Super fast and so much fun to ride. Also seem to be bombproof. And can easily be used on light gravel. Bought them after reading https://forum.ridinggravel.com/post/con ... s-10164949.
