Hi all,

I recently bought this secondhand CeramicSpeed OSPW but when installing the unit I discovered that they said "the text should face outside" whilst my pulley wheels don't have text. The bearing itself does mention CeramicSpeed. When looking futher online I also noticed that the pulley wheel always are black of red whilst mine are alu/silver color.

Can anyone confirm whether CeramicSpeed produced an OSPW like mine or did I just buy a fake? Thanks for the support. Picture attached of the one I purchased.

Something about this does not look right to my eye... that font looks weird and the size does not match, but that could change depending on which RD system that one is for...

the silver wheels should still say ceramicspeed on them too, cant tell from pic

The pulley wheels don’t look right, they seem a bit too bulky. Real OSPWs are skeletal. On most new OSPWs the font on the cage is bigger, the writing starts directly over the lower bearing. I think older OSPWs had a similar smaller font to yours though, so that’s not necessarily a deal breaker.

@clear I haven't seen any fakes one either so therefore my doubt ... Could this be a first?

@spdntrxi This OSPW is for the Shimano 9000/6800 so the 17/17 tooth combo checks out. The pulleys say CeramicSpeed on the bearing itself, not on the pulley wheel.

@wingguy Thanks, I also thought they were too bulky but for some odd reason only after I bought them... *insert silly face*

I have contacted CeramicSpeed support. Maybe they will answer. We'll see.

EDIT: Just found this: http://codagex.be/websolutions/WSData/W ... s/OSPW.pdf
I think I can rest assured.

Small update for the people who followed/answered this. I got in touch with CeramicSpeed just to be sure. It seems that this is a prototype and it shouldn't be sold. I'm now sending it back for further checks and sure we will get it sorted. In conclussion, it's the real deal but shouldn't be on the market! :p

Sorry for the late reply. I sent back the "prototype" and they sent me a brand new real OSPW. More than a refund to me. ;)
