I can't find ANY rim brake Tarmacs, frameset or otherwise, on the UK website.
I picked up one in the US from specialized (heavily discounted pink frame) on the assumption it will be the last one for a while. I will end up getting in repainted to something more my flavor...
Lots of bikes: currently riding Enve Melee, Krypton Pro, S Works Crux, S Works Epic Evo, SL7.
In build: SW SL8

The bearing sleeve that sits in between the two bottom bracket bearings?

Specialized will keep them separate with just enough marketing differentiation. Make more money that way.
This, since Tarmac take some of the Venge's aero quantity. Being light and aero.
Venge will gain some other quality. Either even more aero, or added comfort (Madone like?).
Maybe, just different geometry. Tarmac keep traditional short wheelbase for snappy feeling. Then Venge adopt more long low design, more bb drop, extended front center, a touch lower trail value to optimize it for descending/sprinting speed ?

That's exactly what is is, to stop the rear brake hose and gear cable from rubbing on the BB30 axle. if you've switched out for different BB to run say Shimano chainset, you don't need it.

The SL6 already is not far behind the Venge in terms of drag, with the aforementioned features it will be even closer. It makes no sense to have two bikes in the portfolio with the same aero/drag and the same weight.
You've got it right.... except that gives them new reason to update the Venge in 2021, which is exactly what they'll do.

Just did exactly this, stripped and re-painted by Ron Jones. Simple but stunning when the light hits it.

Pinarello does fine with one superbike. I hope they merge the two.
Fine by the standards of a far smaller company. Specialized sells many more Venges than Pina sells bikes. The Tarmac is on another level entirely.

Look at the picture above. Seatstays joint with the seattube looks like the Venge. Seatpost ist more aero than SL6. Fully internal cables, add a stem with integration and there's no cable or hose visible at all.
Now look at the downtube, headtube, fork and seattube. It's still not a fully aero bike in appearance like the Venge. No way they're merging two extremely successful product lines.

Just been into a Spec dealer in South Africa and he suggested that the venge and tarmac will be collapsed into one model line.

It certainly makes sense given the marginal difference on fully integrated bikes with aero bars / dropped seat stays...

There is only going to be one bike going forward. It's an SL7 tarmac. Lucky enough to have seen it already first hand, obviously I'm not going to post the photos of the bike as the relationships it'll damage are worth more to me. Here's a photo of the box. Enjoy it.
