Hi guys, I got a new Easton crank for my cross bike, a 2017 Scott Addict CX 10 (BB86). I installed the Kogel BB86 for 30mm spindle just fine, but when I put the cranks on there is a quarter of an inch or so gap. I’ve never dealt with this type of crank before. Is a spacer needed? It seems odd. Has anyone here successfully installed these cranks on a BB86 bike? I have pics but I don't seem to be able to add attachments, sorry.

Yes, this is with a preloader on there already.

You might be right. I never saw any options for spindle length, and I thought that BB86 was about as wide as it gets for a non-fat bike.

I use stages NDS... the spindle is 122.. pretty sure the stock spindle is 129 as I never used it. I remember seeing a washer that would take up the slack but not sure if it came with the cranks of the stages arm.

EC90 spindle is 129mm. You need to add some spacers to pick up the slack when not using the Easton BB. The Easton BB extends outboard a bit so you only need the preload adjuster.

EA70 came with my Aspero, spindle is longer than a BB30+/BB386 SRAM, as the others have said, probably missing some spacers. I know SRAM has documentation on what width spacers you need for almost every BB type, might check if Easton has the same to make sure you're not putting too many on one side and not the other.

I'll leave it up to you to figure out the other 30%. If you are in any way offended, that's on you.

Thanks. I couldn't find any info from easton. I ordered a whole bunch of raceface and easton spacers from treefort.
