DUB BB for 2019 S-Works Venge.
Moderator: robbosmans
I am trying to find the right bottom bracket for my 2019 S-Works Venge in order to install a Sram Axs etap DUB crankset.
The frame has an OSBB bottom bracket, but it's unclear to me what the dimension of this is. Can not find dimensions on specialized.com
Is it BB30, PF30, BB30a or PF30a.
Measurering the width is 63mm, but searching for DUB BB30 I would have to choose between 68 or 73mm.
Searching for DUB PF30 I would have to choose between 78mm or 83mm.
Can any one help me out?

Dub BB30 regular will fit perfectly. The frame is 68mm wide and the new OSBB is usual BB30. How did you measure the width to 63mm?
Dub BB30 68mm is the correct one.
Dub BB30 68mm is the correct one.

Go to bbinfinite.com. they have a click thru flow chart. Measure the DIAMETER of the hole. One is 42. One is 46. Specialized sucks because they use both bb30 and pf30 and call it the same thing,OSBB, because their marketing team is retarded.
On my crux, i hacksawed out the ridiculous bonded-in aluminum bb30 cups and run a bbinfinite pf30 module.

There's no need to measure. It's BB30 68mm.Kingston wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 9:01 pmThanksFactoryMatt wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 8:42 pmGo to bbinfinite.com. they have a click thru flow chart. A lot of DUB BBs are just 6806 bearings with 1mm reducers/shims. This Hope kit is more of the same + a 2mm spacer to take up any axial play.
Even DUB BBs with bearings that don't use reducers...they're basically 6806 bearings with 1mm thicker inner races and the same sized balls.
DO NOT BUY THE STOCK SRAM DUB BB! It uses nonstandard bearings that are smaller outer diameter for some stupid reason. My brand new Sram bb30 to dub BB wouldn't even spin a full revolution and the bearings felt gritty. I was unable to use the stock ceramic speed 6806 bearings to replace them with too. Get some good 6806 bearings with the inner sleeve.
bbinfinite makes great stuff and I'm super happy with the one-piece OSBB PF that I installed in my S-Works Roubaix.

Just a little update from OP.
The certified Specialized store where I bought the Venge, told me to get a 46x68 DUB Pressfit BB. That does not fit, since the frame has alloy housing for installing BB30 bearing. So the dimension is 42x68. The alloy housing can't be removed, with a saw
I bought a Sram DUB BB30 bottom bracket which is now installed. There might be better option, that I am not aware of.

Oh god. First GXP with a free floating side and now this? Before reading this I actually thought DUB wouldn't be so bad, but as it seems they just reinvented the shims to sell a new axle and modified bearings .TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 9:02 amA lot of DUB BBs are just 6806 bearings with 1mm reducers/shims. That's what I wrote yes, have mounted a few. Did you buy the bb at the Specialized store too or what did they say after it didn't fit?Kingston wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 1:58 pmJust a little update from OP.

I am interested in that topic as well. Somebody has tried the Hope DUB conversion kit with normal BB30 bearings?
Chris King also offers a DUB conversion kit.
Will this work with my 2019 Venge for Sram Red AXS crank?
