It was an awesome ride! Bike is super quick and comfy, looks great and very light!

this review does contradict the Gran Fondo review where this one claims comfort at the front end and GF says quite the opposite. still no clear indicator of build weight - under 6.7kg is great, but that bike was rolling on lightweights - i'd feel very good if it said under 6.3kg for that config though!

as to the 790g frame weight - Colnago's website says that is for a 50cm unpainted but with all metal attachments (hangers etc.)

Different riders, different experiences! that 6.7kg build isn't with Lightweights, that was closer to 6.5.

Does any one have any actual weights yet on the frame. Preferably rim version. I would thing on the rim version no change in fork weight ?
Colnago has always used 43 mmm rake forks across the whole range of bikes I believe, does any one know for certain if that has changed with then new geometry ?

Well it's now December, and I haven't been able to find any ride reviews since the initial short test rides with the official launch in summer. Are the Colnago V3RS finally available, and has anyone built up or ridden one enough to comment on it's ride qualities yet? In particular, how do these compare with the ride qualities of the iconic C-series?

When you compare the V3RS and the V2R geometry in the 54 frames size they are close except the V3 has a 3mm more reach and the headtube is shorter by 12mm so it will handle closer to the V2R than the C series. Both seattube are the same angle and the head angle is off by .01 degree which I am sure is not going to be a game changer but the headtube heights might give it a different feel. Also the BB drop is lower by 2mm on the V3 which should change the feel as well. I noticed that the Pro teams Colnago sponsors many of the riders are on the V2R.

Think most of the BB's are being dropped now as we are all riding wider tyres. If you factor that in it takes the BB drop back to the original geo when running 23's

Exactly, regarding dropped BB's. The headtube is shorter because the forks are longer for increased tyre clearance under the crown. From memeory, I can't say that the fork is exactly 12mm longer to account for the 12mm shorter headtube but the fork specs are out there if you go looking.

I'm not so much waiting on ride reports, obviously they can be subjective, but I am eager to see some real world frame weights, none of this complete bike stuff, for these recent disc brake 'light weight climbimg bikes with aero properties' (in marketing speak) like the V3Rs, Wilier Zero SLR, Scott Addict etc.

Probably because that's what they were given at the beginning of the season. Fabio Aru and Tadej Pogacar (i.e. team leaders) were given V3Rs' in August after lauch but it probably wasn't deemed worth it to give other riders new bikes for 6 or so weeks left in the season. Even Dan Martin wasn't given a new bike, probably because he was leaving UAE. Same deal with the new Scott Addict initially for Mitchelton Scott.

The new issue of Cyclist (out tomorrow in the UK) has a review and the tester absolutely loves it. That states 790g for the frame but I doubt they stripped it so it's most likely a claimed weight.
