2021 S-Works Tarmac SL7 Warranty Replacement (was 2019 SL6 Disc)

Just put another 1500 miles on the bike this past month or so on warm Florida roads. Now running Corsa Graphene 2.0 28mm (3rd set) and a new KMC x11SL Gold Chain. Bottles were hard to reinsert and rattled in the Sworks carbon cages. So went the Elite Vico's...
Still awesome... thought I would photo-whore a current pic...

Nice to see you loving your bike... Loving mine now almost 8000kms later.
Debating whether to fit those Vittoria corsa or Rapidairs for next tire.. My turbo cottons are close to the end. 3rd pair of Vittoria's due to wear? Or damage?

Wear... look any cotton tire doesn't last all that long... once they start to get cut up and flat a few times I chuck them. Been getting +/- 1000 miles on a set... rears always go quicker, then I use the previous front for a while to stretch them a little further. In the biz so I bought a case of 12 recently. Still have 2 more pairs on the shelf... run 75 psi so they tend to cut less. Most of my riding is either on the ocean in NJ or on the Gulf in FL. Lots of bits of shells on the roads...

Ok... You must change it out earlier than I would normally.. My current set of 3 Turbo Cottons has been rotated to last over 4000kms. Corsas is stated to be hardier and last longer..Rich_W wrote:Wear... look any cotton tire doesn't last all that long... once they start to get cut up and flat a few times I chuck them. Wow that's a pretty light disc SL6. Looks very good and it's not all fancy xtralite/darimo components everywhere. I love my rim braked S-Works SL6 too but it's relatively heavy at like 7100g. I have seen other SL6 and they are like 500g less with almost the same parts.
Most parts are standard:
S-Works Sagan Superstar 54cm
Dura Ace DI2 9150
Aerofly bars 40cm
Zipp Sprint SL 120mm
Enve 4.5 with latex tubes
Micheling Power Competition 25mm
Pro Stealth Carbon saddle
DA pedals, chain and 11-28 cassette
172,5mm cranks with 53/39
Tacx Carbon Cages
Supacaz bar tape
Rec-Mount (this is the first thing i will change)
Sure. The bike isn't built up to be superlight but more of an all-rounder. I still feel like there's some hidden weights inside the frame... Any ideas?

Mine's an all rounder as well... Only true weenie part on mine is the MCFK stem. The Aliante 00 and Keo Blade Ti axles contribute. Superlight tape, shortest Di2 wires, elimitate the forward connector tube...
So reading your spec list... Biggest gap is likely the paint... then wheels, tires, bar, stem, saddle, pedals, tape...

Thanks. Yep, nothing new I guess but it all adds up in the end. Perhaps the bike will have to go on a diet during winter and not just me

With the impending SL7... think its time to sell it?
This has been the perfect bike... It's my A bike no question. No changes whatsoever once I found the sweet spot. Bulletproof. In service since 10/18.
On my 4th x11SL chain, 2nd 9100 cassette, and umpteenth pair of Graphine 2.0 skinwall 28mm. 9-10th pair maybe?

I can 100% confirm what you just said. But instead of selling the SL6, I'll skip the SL7, kinda like skipping an iPhone generation.
I'll see what the SL8 generation will bring... or the next Venge... or the Tarmac/Venge

Great point. It's not earth shattering new. And routing cables through bars and head tubes...justRideIt wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 6:09 pmI can 100% confirm what you just said. But instead of selling the SL6, I'll skip the SL7, kinda like skipping an iPhone generation.

Rich - Love your bike! I'm tempted to sell the Sagan SL6 and get an SL6 disc, but would like to find a unique colorway. I'm with you and justRideIt, if the only real "gains" are internal cable routing, then I'll take a pass and wait for the SL8.
