I'm 177 (this should be 5ft 9 1/2) with 74-75cm BB-top-of-saddle and I'd go for a 54. So I believe you should go for a 51.Wenne wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 9:30 pm51 vs 54Wenne wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 9:02 pmFrame 54 , 69,5cm from bb...Devotional wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 4:13 pmStill waiting on my ship to get a 51 and a 54 in to try . Here's BMC's chart with suggestions concerning a bike of similar geometry:
Whoa, 51 already have noticeable top tube slope. How would 48 look then...
While i can get away with Systemsix size 51, for Supersix i need 48 to have low enough head tube. Why do small bike always have more top tube sloping...

51 does not look pretty, road bikes are not mountain bikes...
To be honest, to me both look quite ugly...Wenne wrote:above is much nicer as below...
On the upper one integration is terrible worse than in a normal frame, on the lover one you have a tower of very massive spacers...
Not saying there is a better option... knot stem is 300g and impose the bar (another 300g) and conventional stems require an horrible “spacer”...

If using a standard stem, I would skip the KNØT spacers, they're big and bulky and just look weird next to a much slimmer stem. I would either only use the top one that lets cables through against the frame then use normal small spacers over it if needed or even use a normal headset top cap like the EF guys are using... it's probably marginally more aero too as it cuts frontal surface area. But integrated stem or not, a tower of spacers never looks good on any bike with any stem or any bars, that's not specific to the KNØT cockpit IMO, although being smaller in diameter, standard spacers don't attract as much attention, a tower of them still makes any bike uglier. KNØT stem actually looks really nice if slammed or almost slammed.
Wenne, I'm curious why you went with a -12° stem with some spacers instead of a -6° stem with less spacers...

Look at Sergio Higuita's bike
Unfortunately I have to get used to sloping TTs unless I get custom. This is also the reason why I'm getting the Addict RC - Yates' bike doesn't look too bad and him and Adam rides an XXS

The worst slopers are Giant bikes.

More slope gives you more seatpost extension, more comfort... Secondary bonus I found out when I spent two summers in the Pyrénées: more slope allows you to be lower when you get in a speed tuck sitting on the top tube on long descents, and it's more comfortable to do so and easier to get in and out of that position with more space under the saddle. That's not a deciding factor for many, I admit.
This is the “max” that remain a minimum aesthetically balanced but need to swallow 600g of cockpit.Wenne wrote:what is nice for you then? The ?C36 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 11:56 amTo be honest, to me both look quite ugly...Wenne wrote:above is much nicer as below...
