Are We Getting A New Cannondale Supersix?
Moderator: robbosmans
If I'm planning on buying a SS Evo 105 and upgrading it to Ultegra DI2, does anyone know if the BT-DN110-A battery fits in the seatpost? Does the D-shaped seatpost come with some type of di2 battery mount/adapter? Do I need to buy one of the Shimano mounts (BM-DN100-S, BM-DN100-L, BM-DN100-I)? Thanks

Cannondale has a Di2 battery mount specially designed for the seatpost, it clips at the bottom of the battery and is shaped to squeeze against the flat section of the seatpost.
I'm not sure if it comes in all the bike's spare parts bag or not but dealers 'should' be able to order it if it doesn't. It's called 'KNØT 27 Di2 Battery Mount' part number is K32180... Otherwise, all the tricks that work on round seatposts could also do the job, it just needs to be squeezed in tight in the post.

As an owner of an Evo2 Disc bike (size 54), I'm thinking of eventually upgrading to the Evo3 frameset - but which size?
My BB-to-top-of-saddle height is 74cm and I've set up my current bike with a 120mm, -20deg stem, totally slammed. A 110mm stem would perhaps suit me better.
Should I go for size 54 or 51?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

I'm also on a 54 with a 74cm saddle height... but in my case, I use a -6° stem with 10mm of total stack between the stem and frame, I have more wiggle room than you do and I would go with a 54 with the Evo 3. The new 54 has a 3mm higher stack and 3mm shorter reach than the Evo 2 so, with the KNØT cockpit if I would keep that, I would just use one 7.5mm spacer and would have pretty much the same fit.S6ED wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 7:43 pmAs an owner of an Evo2 Disc bike (size 54), I'm thinking of eventually upgrading to the Evo3 frameset - but which size?

The 3mm difference is quite small if you keep your -20° 120mm stem. If you use the KNØT setup, there is a -17° stem option which, slammed, would still put you higher on a 54 than your current setup so then, maybe a 51 would work better, it has a 9mm shorter reach than a 54 Evo 2 but with a 17mm lower stack. If a 110mm stem would be better, a 120mm on a 51 would be good and the fork rake/trail geometry of the 54 and smaller new Evos probably works better for those who need longer stems because they ride smaller frames to get low, your weight wouldn't be as much over the front wheel as before, more balanced between the two wheels.

Thanks for your input. I have to admit that I do not like the looks of a -20deg stem (see photo), so I'd rather use a more conventional -8deg stem. Given that, the 51 frame would perhaps be better as it would allow me to dial in a low position with a "normal" stem.Dan Gerous wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 8:29 pmI'm also on a 54 with a 74cm saddle height... but in my case, I use a -6° stem with 10mm of total stack between the stem and frame, I have more wiggle room than you do and I would go with a 54 with the Evo 3. One concern would be, whether the seat post is long enough the get the 74cm saddle height with the 51 frame.

Should be fine. The seatpost is 330mm long with 65mm minimal insertion, so if you put it as high as it will go on a 51 which has a 47.7 seat tube length, the rails would be at 74.2cm... so that's still higher than you need without even adding the height of the saddle.S6ED wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 8:57 pmThanks for your input. By the way, do you perhaps have any info regarding future colour schemes for framesets? So far, there's the black-purple "team" design and also the rather luxurious "champagne" design, both of which are somewhat an acquired taste...
Awesome, thank you for that info!Dan Gerous wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 7:31 pmCannondale has a Di2 battery mount specially designed for the seatpost, it clips at the bottom of the battery and is shaped to squeeze against the flat section of the seatpost.

Does the 2020 Synapse use the same type of bars as the SystemSix and SuperSix on the high end models? It looks like a traditionalish stem that accepts the flat mount bar. It just wont hide the cables. It might be an option for those that don't like that huge stem. It could be lighter too. Doesn't help with the weight of the bars though.
