My math from the numbers on the video shows the red crank + force spider/chainring s 133g lighter than a force crank with the force chainrings. So the force cranks/spindle are 133g heavier than red.
The numbers are in the video description.
Here are the weighed weights:
Force crank complete 46-33 teeth - 710 g
Force Spider Spider with Red Crank / Crank Arms - 577 g
(Comparable Sram Red Crank 46-33 Teeth - 564 g)
Force cassette 10-28 - 231 g
(Comparable Sram Red Cassette 10-28 - 180 g)
Rear derailleur without battery - 300 g (275 g Sram Red)
Front derailleur without battery - 152 g (143 g Sram Red)
Battery 25 g
Force Chain 273 g (250 g Sram Red)
Front brake lever incl. Cable and brake caliper 397 g (375 g Sram Red)
You can also buy PM spiders and cranks separately from Quarq interestingly enough.
SRAM RED/Force AXS™ Power Meter Spider 107BCD
Quarq DZero DUB Crank Arm Assembly
SRAM RED D1 24mm Crank Arm Assembly

Red arms are hollow and Force are solid carbon hence the weight diff.
This is one of the reasons why I chose Force over Red.
I'm a bit paranoid about the hollow arm thing due to the number of failures from Shimano cranks.
May not be related but I'm alright with a hundred grams weight diff for increased peace of mind

Force cranks with red chainrings look hideous...
I didn't think the groupset could get uglier till I saw that combination.

i will respectfully agree. saw one in the FS section and the differing shades of gray/silver doesn't match aesthetically

Bought it off a friend that decided to got with 9170. Force is an amazing groupset but the front derailleur shifting is still not perfect. Also most of the weight saving is in the drivetrain so a red/force combo seemed like the right idea at the time. Doesn't change the fact that force cranks + red chainring is uglier than satan spawn.

Im looking at a 2020 Scott Addict 20 which is equipped with Force eTap and it looks like I have an immediate "change" that I need to do with the crank plus a PM which will probably cost me close to $1000 right after buying a bike. Ugh.
I hope I'll be making the right choice as Im buying this as a "package" - i like both the frame and gruppo

Same boat here. I ordered a felt ia advanced with force etap. Mainly because ultegra di2 will be another month and that kills my season.
Thing is, a long 170mm crank (for tri/tt) is specced on the force bikes. Must be a supply issue from sram... so they had to oversize cranks based on typical spec. Mind you, i want the power spider upgrade, so i ordered it with a 165mm crank. But the only way to get the 165mm crank was to get it with a 2x chainrings... so i will immediatly have a force crank and chainrings to sell. Ugh. Oh... except that the crank will be 2-3weeks before available again.
And did i mention theat the FD cage looks cheap?
I hope i dont regret this as it was a solid 1500$ premium over ultegra di2 (mind you, sram will come with their hydraulic brakes vs a cheaper trp setup on the di2).

These are completely different situations.
Sram puts a ballon down and pays laborers to put layers of carbon down - like everyone does with any frame or wheel.
Shimano does world beating crazy shit with forged aluminium. It's crazy directional alminium forgings with a bonded AL baking.
Shimano is doing crazy ****. SRAM is doing basic compromise stuff.

Who cares about the process when the end-result is an unacceptable failure rate in Shimano cranks? Are Red cranks failing with any frequency these days and I just didn't notice?

What’s a crazy directional aluminium forging?
