Advice on how to loose some weight, on my Lapierre Xelius. Currently 6.7kg.

Lapierre Xelius Ultimate SL, frame and forks. Frame is about 882gr forks are about 290gr. A mix of Dura ace 9000 and 9100, crank and brake callipers are 9100 the rest is 9000. Cranksets is 165mm with absolute oval inner ring, use ultralight seat post 122gr. Ritchey alloy wsc 90mm post. And Ritchey Carbon 400mm bars, with Lizardskin tape. Quick Releases 47gr
Continental GP Attack II Folding Road Tyre and ultra sonic inner tube. 225gr
Continental GP Force II Folding Road Tyre and ultra sonic inner tube. 236gr
Mavic Ksyrium Pro Exalith Haute Route front wheel, plus Continental GP Attack II Folding Road Tyre and ultra sonic inner tube.893g
Mavic Ksyrium Pro Exalith Haute Route, rear wheel plus Continental GP Force II Folding Road Tyre and ultra sonic inner tube. Plus Shimano Shimano Ultegra R8000 11 Speed Cassette 11/30. 1367g. I will be buying a set of ultralight carbon wheels, approx 990g, this will save about about 400g. Happy with Dura-Ace, any advice on what I can change to save some weight, without spending a small fortune? Any advice really appreciated.</t>

You could get some Vittoria Corsa Speed G+ 2.0 (TLR) and save 200+ grams easy. Those Gavia AC 1's are anchors. I had them. They are very durable though. Kinda the opposite of Corsas.
Also the Giant SLR 1 wheelset is not the lightest around. My 30mm Disc one comes a touch over 1600 grams. But again, it's pretty damn sturdy and stiff.

Then there's the obvious things like chopping your steerer, lighter saddle, lighter/less of a bar tape etc.

kalloy uno stem (or procraft prc st2 stem) - save a fair bit of weight

carbon ti x-lock special ti and aluminium skewers - only 31 grams

lighter saddle

dura ace or sram red cassette...

trim your steerer and seatpost

lighter pedals -- time xpresso or xpedo thrust ti

those are the first that come to mind.

also-- what size frame is that? how tall are you? i love the look of the xelius sl in that size!

It’s a Xs 46cm, i’m about 5ft4. Stems only 110g and the saddle is a sella slr 160g. Seat post is a use carbon 122g Steere tubs will be cut down, after setting up is completed. Is is a nice frame, don’t see much of them in North Wales.

Don't do this to save weight - the savings won't be enough to justify the switch. At the top end, go with the groupset that you prefer - weights are close. Sram Red cassette is worthwhile though.

I don’t mean to come across as a sanctimonious arse...here goes
This is what I see on the forum

When you get to a certain weight it’s diminishing returns but each gram lost counts
Saving weight wherever possible
Can save nearly 30g on stem by buying a Lightweight or similar and 55g on saddle, getting a Berk
Darimo seatpost could save 40g if it’s a straight one
SRAM cassette, cables
And the list goes on....
But it’s not cheap

If you look at the really light bikes on WW that what has happened
Lightweight frame and wheels then grams saved on every component even to the point of sanding off the paint

How deep are your pockets and how committed are you?

I am NZ$6500 and 5.7kg committed any more would cost more than I want to invest
