Should have brought Lawson Craddock back again this year.

He did finish fifth in the Tour twice so you can understand why many got excited early on that they had a new stage racing talent. He has definitely faded since then, but hopes linger on.

The only other American of note with GC qualifications was Talansky. Phinney is purely a TTer. Ben King had been largely irrelevant until last year’s Vuelta.

Sepp Kuss is the Great American Hope now. Maybe Neilson Powless (fell off a bit, perhaps getting back on) and Brandon McNulty (darkhorse) after that.

Hot conditions, peloton's pace and category 2 climbs seem to be causing difficulties for some on today's stage. Colbrelli and van Aert dropped before last 30 km. Sagan still hanging on, barely.

6000 GBP, a frame that is still hard to get to the UCI limit so that the team has to resort to LW wheels, and is also so fragile... Great commercial ad for Pinarello right there

Exciting stage today! de Gendt is a stud, and the 2 Frenchies did very well too.

ps that pinarello can be retrofitted with SnS couplers, no sweat

Wow! I didn't know Pinarello made frames for Ineos with S&S couplers in them!

About the fragility of the frame, or any frame for that matter, don't rely on a picture, we cannot possibly know what kind of hit (and at what power) it took before it finally snapped.

Maybe the frame broke when Geraint fell right on it!
