Anyone else experiencing rattle from the downtube when going over terrain? After inspecting from the hole where the downtube is welded to the bottom bracket, the rattle seems to come from the gear cable vibrating and touching the hydraulic brake hose for the rear brake. Any tips for a quick fix?
I used to have that rattle and was due to the dropper post cable; which I later removed...

By the way, hi everyone, another Topstone Apex1 owner here. Use it as my main conmuter, I do 50Kms and about 2hrs 3-4 times a week. Most of it in tarmac, but also cycle lanes and gravel cycle paths in some of the parks on my route.

Modifications:
  • *Tubus Vega 29 (Tubus Vega 26-28 was too tight for fenders)
*SKS Speedrocker mudguards (thanks triteacher for the tips and photos, great mudgards!)
    *44T SRAM Apex Chainring
*Gravelking 35mm (so much faster...than the WTB)
    *Cheap aluminium seatpost
Wanted the Topstone 105 but the Chilean importer decided not to bring it over...I'm not entirely happy with a 1X since I come from road background and rather go about in bigger rings...

Photo in full conmuter setup.

P.D: I'm in love with the blue colour in the bike, my first none-black bike in a while...

Love the GK 35mm as well!! So much better and faster than the WTBs for allround riding (paved, light gravel etc.)

Hi all,

I've just got myself a Topstone 105, & even though it's a size S I still find i'm reaching for the hoods a bit more than i'd like. Now, i've tried measuring the stem & i'm getting 95mm. will this 'officially' be 90 or 100? & would a drop to a 70 stem be too extreme/effect handling?

Apologies if this is basic stuff btw, thanks.

Hi, I ride a medium 105 and found the stem too long so swapped out for an 80cm which provides a better fit.

I think part of the problem depends where you are coming from as I ride lots of bike parks/downhill on a full susser MTB which has virtually no stem as bars are integrated and the gravel bike just felt plain weird for the first few rides.

Feels great now though and at a recent gravel cross event I was smoking past MTBs on the downhill sections !

This bike can go anywhere 👍

Look again, the top tube is a different shape and the stays are dropped a lot more than on the new supersix. If they are fake, they aren't pics of the Supersix...

I'm thinking about reducing the stem length on my large Topstone. I'm 186 cm, and the reach, especially on the hoods, feels a bit long. I get some neck pain on rides lasting more than 1,5 hours. According to the specs on cannondale.com, the topstone has a 1 1/8 inch steerer. Will this stem fit: Ritchey WCS C220 84D Stem 31.8 - 1 1/8 Inch and is it compatible with the carbon steerer?

I'm considering reducing the stem length by 20 mm, from the stock 100 mm to 80 mm.

I just purchased a small Topstone 105 and find the 'reach' a bit long as well. I measured 90mm on my stem (center to center). Check with your LBS where you purchased the Topstone to see if they have any stems for you to try on for size. Barring that, I found these stems from CC that are pretty reasonable to try wo spending a ton of money, and they come in a good range of lengths and rises. Stack height is a perfect match for the Cannondale stem, too.

Totally fine with the carbon steerer, better than some due to the fact there are no open cutouts to place excessive stress on one area.

80mm here and really changed the fit for me, (187cm tall) handling still wonderful, and the Ritchey quality beat another 4-5 stems I tried.

Aluminium versions look unchanged. different green on the sora? different tires on the 105.
