I remember someone saying that the S3 frameset was very heavy <1300g...
You are citing my measurements. I measured my S3 with seat-post, clamp, headset bearings, derailleur hanger and the super heavy through axles. I did not know how frame weights were measured here when I started my build thread. 8.2kg for my s3 build is respectable given I am using 105, 2kg wheelset, alloy saddle/bars, etc.

This is claiming 1100g frameset.

This one puts a size to the claimed 1100g (56) and weighed the fork 385g.

In the New Tour 7/2019 they tested the Cervelo S3, Size 56, Ultegra Di2, rimbrake Version, total wheight 7.9 kg (wo Pedals)
Frame wheight 1.243g, Fork 418g

Aero results for the S3 with original Novatec R5 Carbon wheels 211W
tuned with Zipp 404 wheels 209W
The Cervelo S5 was tested in Tour 1/2019 with 206W

So....quite small differences between current S3 and S5 regarding Aero results.
Do you have the stiffness number ?

It's apparently a good choice and the Novatec R5 pretty good.

Frameset aerodynamic difference between S3 and S5 itself is small,
However, S3's head tube is taller for the same reach, or should i say the reach is shorter than S5 for the same stack? That may or may not imply more relax fit of the rider on it.

Anyway, you can almost always down size and use longer stem to compensate for their relatively more relax geometry without interfering bike handling, providing that 5mm shorter front center wheelbase of S3 vs S5 on the same size plus a bit more from downsizing wouldn't cause too severe toe overlap.
Kudo to Cervelo for their usage of 4 different fork offset across all sizes to preserve trail value of all size to be the same.

I'd base my decision between S3 and S5 more on geometry. If S3 fit you better than S5 then perfect. If other way around, i might skip S3.
I have been looking at a Rim brake S3 that on sale. The Reach & Stack is a bit worrying given the proprietary stem that's needed. The reach is about the same as my Ultimate SLX which I run with a 130mm Pro stem however the stack is 10mm higher. I don't know if it is just the current distribution issues but it seems hard to find a 130mm stem and then I don't think it has angle options. I am guessing most internally routed handlebars with a cable port into the stem should work to get the 380mm width I run.

I like rim brakes but there is a part of me that thinks I should be starting to invest in Disc brake kit as I looks likely there will be no new mainstream high end bikes in the next year or so running rim brakes.
