I Just got the New Fernweg from Lightweight 63mm clincher and all I can say is wow! I have a pair of Campgnolo Bora Ultra 50 and those are Amazing but, there's levels to this shit and the New FernWeg lightweights are it! And, if you just want to look badass and intimidate your mates then they've got you covered. Now, I'm not going to tell you how much they cost becasue why bore you with those minor details right? Besides, there's a certain level of pride you can have knowing that "even Lance Armstrong had to pay for lightweights" But, if you do get a pair and you remember this post, your welcome. And don't put you friends in the hurt box so early when your in the front. Remember, your riding the New Fernwegs show some class!

I have, based on extensive use of lightweights in mainly tubular config. ( Though also ridden clincher versions a couple of times ) a different view of them.

Quite possibly one of the worst wheels I’ve ever ridden (clincher) and pretty nice in tubular though boras/hyperons and the like are far far nicer.

£5.5k and with all that carbon real estate they still cant get the graphics to fit?

LOL...Some of you guys are really silly or haters one . But, I get what your saying, even thought that myself at first. But, it's really a non issue when you see them upclose in person. Besides, for those who want their Logos highlighted even more you could get the 85mm. I guess But, IMO it accentuates the wheels beautifully on the 63mm way better than previous sets using a much smaller font size and a more cursive script especailly, if you got the all black version. Unless, of course, you just wanted a "black wheel". But, honestly, Lightweights rank pretty high on the "swanky scale" alone so, either way, recognition won't be a problem. But, if want to buy some extra speed and can do it, I can't imagine any other wheel topping these right now. I think it's their best wheel yet.

Certainly no hater here, I love lightweights. I have Obermayer Schwartz edt, Gipfelstrum Schwartz edt and some Ventoux III, but I'd still be pissed with that writing/font.

I hear you KCookie but it doesn't spell that. You'd need to see them up close or, maybe, this isn't the best pic. But, they really look great. I actually comtemplated getting the Ed Schwartz edition in all black with cermanic speed bearings but, I didn't want to wait and for my bike, I think this scheme works best. Plus, it's a couple hundred euros cheaper.

Lightweight decals have always been naff, these are just as bad, and you're pretty blinkered if you think thats easy to read. Personally i thought it was somewhere in wales

Agree on the decals... horrible, and horrible from the marketing side as well... no normal person is going to look at that writing and come away with "Lightweight" at first glance. I think they'd have to know what it's "supposed to say" before even trying to decipher it.

But aside from the graphics, I just can't see those being any less scary, and probably more so, than their lower profile versions on a gusty mountain descent. Lots of cross sectional surface area there, from rim to spokes to hub flange... Good luck.
