F8 vs F10 Tire clearance
Moderator: robbosmans
Has anyone actaully seen a side by side comparison, or knows 100% if there is any difference? Some F10 reviews mention it, but are not reallt specific if the supposedly better clearance is coming from under the brake or the seat stays.
I have a F8 and I have very little clearance with some tire rub when I run 25mm tires on my boyds and my enve 4.5s. I recently got caught up in a crash during a race and cracked the frame. Pinarello will give me a really nice discount on a F10, but its still a lot more than Calfee will fix for. I would only consider the F10 if it really had more clearance to run 255 mm tires with no rub.

If it helps at all i got my 4.5's to rub the inner chainstays for my old F10. Was running 25mm GP4000's and the bike was painted Sideral White. Only mention the paint color as i was sure there was a heap of build up on it compared to the matt black offerings. Until they run an inboard bottom bracket system tyre clearance will remain an issue for those who prefer cushy tyres and wide rims.
Thank you. Based on that, I can't see spending almost 3 times the cost of the repair for the F10.JLBSLR wrote: ↑Mon Aug 27, 2018 4:11 amIf it helps at all i got my 4.5's to rub the inner chainstays for my old F10. I'm using my F8 with Enve 4.5's (Gen2) and 25mm Conti GP4000Sii without a problem... not much clearance, but definitely enough not to rub.

Varies on the road condition, but typically in dry weather 105PSI front/rear. If it's wet, the I drop if about 5psi rear and 8psi front.

Im not sure if the F10 has more tire clearance than the F8 but I do know the main issue with the F8 is the low brake bridge and the type of brakes you use.
I'd like to try some Veloflex Vlaanderen tubular tires that measure 27mm on my F8, the tire looks to fit the frame but not the brakes. So I tried a few brakes, Campy Record 11 and Record 12 both do not have enuf clearance but the Pina Most brakes do. A few photos for ya with a Veloflex Vlaanderen 27mm tubular tire. Note that the Record 12 and the Most brakes both have a screw you can turn to open up the brakes, the Record 12 gets wider but not taller, the Most gets wider and taller !

Didn't know. Heard they were good and just bought them based on the original Turbo's from 30+ years ago.
