Hello weenies

I had my TLO bar cracked by a extralite hyperstem, now I’m on the hunt for a new handlebar, I have looked at a darimo, but the prize is just tough to swallow

What reasonable light handlebar is there, that is short and shallow, external cabling, and not 400 euros. I hope you can help

Best regards

Not easy to go much under 400 Euro. But i would go for Haero Carbon H145RR SL.
My 44 size weights 153g.
(375 Euro and has been since release date).
If you read on the tech behind them you might be swayed. The also got a a bit more heavy version at 175g size 44.
Anyway, drop 132mm / reach 70mm (both versions).

What you should know of Haero sizing. Size 44 is 41.6cm over hoods. Size 42 is 39.6cm and size 40 is 37.6mm over hoods

Funny you say that, i have used Extralite Hyperstem with mine. However i needed a longer stem so i just mounted Eastons EC90SL (quite a bump up in weight though).
From 82g to 138g!

get an alloy bar and never have to worry about getting crushed by stem or bike falling over, carbon bar is just not worth it

Long reach and deep drop are not for me, I like my handlebar short and shallow

Schmolke SL, choose the shape that suits you best.

Ditch the hyperstem as well, they’re rubbish.

Or get an integrated bar and stem and never have problems wirh crushed clamp areas again, while maintaining a low weight (if chosen carefully, aero available).

I just purchased a 3T Ernova Team Stealth from Wiggle (the same bar referred in the previous post). I was positively surprised by the flat top of the bar, although it is not very visible from the shop images.

I had one of the older versions of the bar, so I like the flare and flat top, I can live with the internal cabling, because that’s really cheap, now I just need to figure out what to do with the stem. Thank you for the suggestions everyone

Check out William CCS. <200g, sturdy and very reasonably priced. Allows for internal cabling but I run them outside because the cable bend is too tight for Campag 11 mechanical with the way I like the shifters.

Oh and tarmackev but your post lists the bar as Toronova which kind of threw me off. Should have just clicked the link.
