Wow, that's narrow. My 26mm Cayuse Pass EL (200g) measure ~26mm on 21mm ID rims.
I’m baffled by this. Both the Compass and Grand Bois banded Panaracers measure 25.3mm

As for the handing, they both suck in corners compared to cotton tires.

Thinking I’ll try some Veloflex masters next.

Isn't that kinda light for a 28mm tire? What's the measured width and rim ID?

Calipers show the tires are 28.4mm wide. Rim ID is 18mm, Rim OD is 25mm

This thread confirms the weight. Damn, now I'll have to think about yet another tire swap and maybe even lose some grams, 2x176g GBs would yield 50g. Thanks for the tip!

How do you like those skewers? They seem really light, is the 39 for both or one?

Meh... but they look great on the scale! so far so good. I’ll see if I change my mind come spring.

39g for the pair. They seem to put adequate pressure on the dropouts to hold the wheels adequately under load. Can’t get them to slip while riding. Super fine thread pitch allows you to dial them in just right to close the cams. Definitely a delicate item tho. I have dt Swiss RWS on the shelf as backup.

Thanks for the pro tip! I ordered a set of the dt Swiss. And you bike is sweet. It is very similar to what I would choose if I went new.

Damn, that bike looks good. I'm going in tomorrow for fit and purchasing a frameset (stepping outside my normal color pallette and going Rage red). I'll be building it with my own gear though. Unintentionally, I've become a weight weenie. I began modding my 2012 Madone and got the weight down to 15.86lbs (7.19kg) with a set of 38mm carbon wheels. I wanted to build a bike and then I saw the Emonda SLR (almost went with the Canyon EVO electric frame set) and it was a done deal; guess I just really like Trek bikes. I've been wanting to build a light bike. The journey starts tomorrow at my LBS. Oh, I'm so glad they no longer decorate the bikes with all the Trek badging crap like they did with my Madone.

Once I finish the SLR, I may send the Madone out for a repaint.

What color is the paint on the bike?

'20 Emonda SLR (Rage Red) - 6.27kg (6.04kg;no pedals)
'12 Madone (Black) - 6.96kg (6.73kg;no pedals)
Fujee Espree (Maroon) - 11.02kg

Color is gloss dark grey with red and black accents. This is stock 2019 color, not a project one frame.

Wow, that's a nice stock color. Trek has upped their game I see.

It helps me to see some nice images of this bike.
