New Rim Brakes: DA9100 or Sram Axs

Looking for a set of new Rim Brakes on my old Sram Red 10 Groupset
I think the first gen of sram brakes isn,t the best choice
I think the DA 9100 Series is a great choice,but now i see Sram had a new Rim brake on the market with the Axs group
Can anyone help me with my decision?

I hear the AXS brake actually remains the same as Red/eTap one which I thought sucked. I even didn't finish the installation, because of not seeing how to center it correctly...

Have you tried to service your brakes and get some new pads? That can make them work a lot better.

Sram isn't famous for having the best braking performance but it's certainly not bad.

What rim material and pads do you use?

I recently bought used pair of DA-9000 calipers instead of my Planet-X calipers. They work great. + they are cheaper and lighter, than DA9100. Only thing is that you can`t run 28mm tires with 9000, but you can with 9100.

Never service to my old brakes,i dont know how to service

Wipe your alloy brake tracks down with some alcohol, put some swissstop black or coolstop pads on, and last check that your calipers don't have play in its linkages by grabbing the arms at the ends and pulling/pushing. If you notice excessive play it needs to be eliminated by localizing where its created and tighten down those joints. If the calipers are dirty better clean and grease so they don't seize.

I'm running 28mm GP5000TL's with my 9000 brakes right now. Everything fits just fine.

Katusha ran Shimano direct mount callipers with sram shifters. I don’t think they would have done that if it was not working properly

GP5000 28 mm are actually 28mm on most wheels.
GP4000 - not so much. I think Shimano increased the clearance at the brake between generations so they could say they coped with all "28mm" tyres, but I'm not 100% sure.
