I just sent messages to J&L via ebay about my Trek L123 (why can't they just describe the sizes with the code??) TA. He indicated they'd do it, but on the second message when I asked to order, he got his wires crossed. He might be too busy to.

I use Robert Axle Project thru-axles, especially since they have a nice selector to ensure you order the correct axles.

I used them to work out which one I needed. To buy through them meant it was A$90 landed in Oz (purchased direct) or about A$95 if purchased through a local retailer in Oz.

Then found these from Wolf Tooth. I needed the 167mm length with 12x1.0mm thread, and this was one of the few affordable ones I could find.

42g for A$66 shipped (purchased through a local retailer). Their US site lists them for USD $39.95

J&L put the axles up on ebay that I asked for. They came in and were as described. Recommended.

What lube should be used on thru axle threads? Would antiseize be better than grease?

No, anti seize is just grease with finely ground soft metals in it for high temp environments. The heat degrades the grease, but not the soft metals which are left behind. Use whatever grease you have.
