Best aftermarket crankset for Etap?

In short, what is the best aftermarket crankset for Sram Etap?
Fast and precise shifting.

i've used etap with old sram red 10-speed, praxisworks, and current sram red yaw rings, all shift the same imo

i'd give the yaw rings the edge as previously i'd had the odd instance of chainsuck (with both manual fd and etap), but not with the yaw rings

I find di2 is more forgiving with aftermarket chainrings than etap.

I suggest sticking with the sram red chainrings and even then you'll need to set it up well to in order to avoid dropping chains or imprecise shifts

your goals ?

WW or something else.. SRAM Red crankset is pretty damn good by itself and looks better then most. I would only use something different like a THM for saving weight (not much when you look at the whole system) or 1x gravel/offroad. I actually use the RED crankset on my TT bike that is Shimano Di2.

Personally i wouldn't use THM for Sram Etap. I am a bit weary to the chainline change.
Red uses 45mm chainline and THM uses 43.5mm.
I guess Rotor Aldhu with the longer axle, that gives you 46mm chainline is the better option with respects to chainline.
But that is probably a weight increase.
I run the hidden bolt BB 386 version of the Red crank.
However, i don't think it's the fastest talking up/down talking big to small chainring.
The shifting ramps could probably be better...

The Yaw chainrings on the Red crank are going to shift the best. Not sure why you would want to change?

Not the BB386 the OP have. Around 630g no ? Aldhu DM can be slighlty lighter, around 10g.

It's even worst with Force, around 790g. I can't understand the weight difference between Red BB30 and BB386, this 2 or 3cm longer axle weight 100g.

For the OP, with long 30mm axle, there is also the Easton EC90SL.

On my Parlee with ETAP I initially had Praxis Works chainrings with a Rotor 3D crankset. Switched to RED crankset + rings for aesthetic reasons, but I don't notice any changes in shifting speed or precision.

More of a question of which chainrings shift better than which cranks.

Praxis work pretty well, but even after spending a lot of time setting up I still get some chain drops. On Campag, Shimano I have never had a chaindrop problem that I couldn't eliminate completely.

So, probably any crank that will take the SRAM rings is the best crank for shifting.

You should give a chance to Rotor Aldhu with a round spidering. Shifting is great with ovalized chainrings, it's perfect with round spidering. Stiffness, lightness.

Anyone try running etap with an sworks crank and praxis rings? I've been wanting to get etap for a bit now but I'm a bit reluctant with all the chain drop posts I see and seeing it happen several times on my dad's bike even with a red crankset and rings. Not that I've had issues with my DA9000 but I like the idea of getting rid of cables and wires. probably wise to just wait and see if they resolve things with the new version of etap whenever that comes out.
