My R5Ca

Hi Weenies!!
New to the forum & the concern of weight! I've wanted an R5Ca for awhile & finally managed to pick one up this summer. Since then ive done about 1600 miles on it. love the bike but always looking for ways to improve it. My local area isnt overly hill or mountainous so i am partial to the aero element too.
Heres some pics;

welcome.
very nice bike. i like the simple and clear design of r-serie-cervelos from this generation very much. your frameset for shure belongs to the best- available.
there is of course plenty of space for improvement in terms of weight saving (....and for burning money.....), but its already very good as it is.
good ride!

The compoant choice currently is down to basically knicking them off my other bike to get this working.
My next mod will more than likely be dura ace groupset with some ee brakes ready for next summer. Little by little. Also the frameset only set me back £1500 so pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things.

That’s such a bargain!
Could etap an option for a group set? (1st choice is DA but I’m guessing you’d have to drill the frame which isn’t nice to do to a bike like this)
i have looked at etap but i dont want to drill the frame. I also actualy like the mechanical feel & look of cabled bikes. Im looking at the 9100 with a sram 11 speed cassette.Basher74 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 9:09 amCOSTA wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 7:19 amThe compoant choice currently is down to basically knicking them off my other bike to get this working.

Do you not think it would look weird with the external brake cable? That’s what I’d need to drill even with eTAP I think to make it look good.

Really? I wouldn't touch that frame. My Izalco Max (2014) has external cables and I'm running etap. I could care less how the cable is run.

727g for the frame? What size? My Izalco Max in medium is 736g.

hmmm, i dont think that a rca weighs more than 727 gr in 56.
imo most consistent solution for this frame is sram red mech. it works perfect (if you are capable of setting it up properly), it is the lightest solution and its what the frame is made for.
