Nah ride Zipps until they are not spent
How is ride feel and is there speed difference between 30 mm wide tires when you compare it to 25 mm wide?

It’s like there are two conversations going on here and you’re more confused as me...
As for zipps... that belongs to the thread-jacker.
As for 30’s... heavier tires are heavier tires... but they’re also smoother, taller, and more durable.

Beautiful bike. Really nice. I am still debating about my next bike, this is a real contender.
Do you know if it is possible to use the Aerofly II from the latest venge? I think it’s neater with all the cables hidden, and the aero shape should help the aerodynamics without compromising the handling.

I’m personally not a fan of aero bars... My feeling is what you gain in the aero bar, you loose with the inability to ride in the TT position on your fore arms on the taped bar tops.parajba wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 10:01 pmBeautiful bike. Also where would the internal cables go from the stem?

Are there any solutions for the SL6 that would allow to have a more aerodynamic handlebar (than the round stock one) and at the same time hide as many cables as possible? Different stem+handlebar combo etc?Rich_W wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 10:11 pmparajba wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 10:01 pmBeautiful bike. Really nice. ETap would clearly eliminate two cables. But I prefer Di2.
There’s no getting around the hydro hose entry points on the frame and fork... why not just get the Venge?

Good point, I like both, but I have the feeling that the SL6 is more lively, more comfortable and just rides better. A bit of a GC contender if you know what I mean, whereas the Venge is for specific stages and perhaps rides a bit boring and responds less when you put the hammer down. But maybe I am wrong. Maybe they ride incredibly similar given the similarities in the frames and the angles...
Looks alone I prefer the Venge.
Functionality and ride qualities (I think) the SL6.
But I have not ridden either so I am only going by what I read online.
Wheels would be CLX50.
Have you tried the Venge? What made you pick the SL6 instead?
If it helps, I am 69kg x 179cm (5 10) and can put out an FTP of 4.2wkg. Used to race, might go back racing next year.
Anyway, I really like your bike!
I’m old school (53 yrs young) and simply prefer all rounder bikes. At the end of the day, you’re splitting hairs. Aero bars are part fashion.... and more flexible.
If it’s good enough for Phil to ride over that wall, it’s good enough for you. That being said, if Phil was on discs he might have corrected his line... lol

Some minor updates to this rolling thing of perfection. Now in lightweight mode. 15.32 lbs / 6950g as pictured
Swapped the Aliante R1 for an Aliante 00, Turbo Cottom 26mm tires (measures 28.25mm), and some Brownish tape
Thoughts on the tape and color details? Yellow mark on the 00 saddle?
