I have managed to break the bit on my ur-cn300 Campag chain tool. It has snapped off at the base and I’m struggling to get it out of the spindle.

Has anyone had the same problem and managed a fix?

It's not easy but you can get 1 mm turned off the pin end of the stock so that 1mm of the pin is exposed - then you can withdraw it by careful use of pliers.
We've had to do it once or twice when we've had customers damage their chain tools and they've not wanted to replace them. Tricky, though..
