Hello to all,
I'm on the market for a new bike and I'd like some advice from you.
These are more or less the characteristics I'm looking for:
- all-round frame, with good climbing and descent skills
- effective (non UCI) tyres clearance up to 28/30mm measured
- rim brakes, I would really appreciate the direct mount brakes
- relatively comfortable, also oriented to outputs + 150km

For now I'm oriented to these models:
- Bianchi Specialissima, I tried it, it's really remarkable
- Orbea Orca OMR, I don't know nothing about the ride quality
- BMC Teammachine SLR01, tyres clearance?

Thank you in advance

Beautiful bike, but the geometry doesn't fit well for me.

not me but 2 people i know and they are blown away. they have ridden many bikes and also Bianchis own Oltre XR4, but Specialissima is the only one for them. the bikeshop i know has one hanging on the wall and in celeste matt it is absolutely beautiful. also reviewers say only good things..

quick google says that Specialissima is just for 25mm tyres max. they specc vittoria corsa g+ tyres, they are probably wider but mm or two max in real.. but that is fine for race and climbing bike i think, you will want lightness.. it should be comfortable due to countervail.

If you accept 25mm tire clearance as limit, i would go for Ax Lightness updated Vial EVO / Ultra or Race.
These are so funny to ride.
The later (new) have some revisions on layup and chainstays stiffness.
I have the older Vial EVO D, just updated my DA 9000 to Etap, and damn... i had forgotten how snappy this bike is..
(been hammering my gravel for too long i guess..)
The bikes are also extremely beautiful if you go for semi painted (you should have some exposed layup work)
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2018.12.21)

Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)

Look 785 or sarto veneto. I have done a 12 Jr tt on the sarto and enjoyed it. Lovely bike.

The 2018 update of ax is a compromise for UCI Approval, which make some statement of improvement and Weight limit increased from 100 to 120 (meanwhile other components only up to 85-100...)

The best ax frame Eva mass production is between 16-17, except my ax swift Sculp :)

I think that Cervelo R5 have a good chance to be my next bike, perfect geometry, good tyre clearance, amazing ride quality.
