Based on Pinarello website, F10 X-Light frame size 530 (raw frame - I assumed without paint) weight 760g.

Looking into Pinarello F10 white paper, the standard F10 raw frame size 530 weight 820g. The delta is 60g. This could very well just be the manufacturing weight margin of +/-8%.

From various online sources, it was stated a new lay-up, a slower and more controlled moulding process and new dedicated moulds, Pinarello managed 60g of weight reduction on the frame. I assume this is still talking at a raw frame level which is consistent with above. At the same time, some online sources stated the bare minimum matt paint on the X-Light saved 100g on paint.

Without dwelling too much on the weight 8% margin of error, how much actual weight different is a X-Light frame in its finished state with the matt paint compare to a standard frame in its finished state with the standard paint?

As a side note I would also be interested to hear from people that have ridden the F10 and the F10 XLight (do they exist?) for ride differences. I recently switched my F8 frame to an F10 and I preferred the F8.... Weird.

They're both heavier than a TCR Advanced SL which is 1/3 of the price. LOL.

TCR Advanced
is slooping thus less material
( only a few sizes , compared to the 12 sizes offered by pinarello )
pressfit bottom bracket

Shitty aero performances compared to the allrounder F10

Anything else to add ?

Weight isn't everything
Like aero isn't everything

Its interesting hearing Dimitris Katsanis talk about the design of the F10 and how they make the XLight lighter.

I already know there are tons of bike out there which is much cheaper and less weight. Thank you for your input but it doesn't help answer the question above though.

@LionelB : test F10 when you scroll down the page
It's in German but translate online
They feel it's harder , and requires more input from the rider

If the TCR Advanced SL was "shitty", Dumoulin wouldn't ride it...capiche :smartass:

Didn't said it was shitty
Say it's tested bad from an areo POV
It's a great all around climbing bike

Not really comparable to the DOGMA F10 tough
Less size , slooping geometry and you do some compromises to fit if you are too special from a fit point of view ...

lastly tom will ride whatever the *f##k* he 's paid to :welcome:

Please excuse internet posters who derail the topic toward something else they want to self promote........ Oh on second thought - that’s so wrong! they should refrain from replying if they can’t contribute to the OPs question/topic.

In my case I’m also interested in good answers to your excellent questions about the F10

His/her makes no sense because the implication is that the whole F10 X-Light line of frames is lighter than the regular F10 due to 8% manufacturing error.

I am referecing this thread I started on vSalon on my disapointment when I switched from F8 to F10: https://www.velocipedesalon.com/forum/f ... 50213.html

Page 6 where Jerk pitches in can have some interesting info on the differences between the manufacturing process of the F10 and F10 XLight. In other words there could be more than just weight savings between the two. Speculations.
