i like Geraint Thomas. Hopefully he or Tom Dumoulin can win this tour.
If Dumoulin would be in the Team Sky, then we would have the first 3 places in Paris with Sky-Sky-Sky

I'm completely off the nairo train... So unimpressed by his reluctance to do any work in chasing froome. Doesn't ride like a champion does.. He wants everyone else in the peleton to do the work for him.. Pathetic.
(...)
Yepp same here concerning Quintana. He just never attacks since last year. Just stays in the wheels.
Reminds me of most central/south americans I ride with, regardless of terrain.

Good to know! I was not aware of that.
It reminds me also about Lopez (Superman) etc.. in the Giro....

interesting how thomas attacked when froome was coming back to him.
To me he should have attacked just a little bit before and then the gap between him and Froome would have been greater!
But better like this than nothing.

Are there any kind of rules in pro cycling to protect the sport, the "spectacle" against any kind of control by the richest and most powerful organisations ?
In north american pro sports, for example, teams budgets can't go above a certain maximum amount, so if a team wants to hire a "superstar" , they will have to let go other riders , etc...
And that's why you don't see nowadays a pro sports professional team winning 5 or 6 consecutive championships, like in the "old days"...

So far not...
But so far we didn't have a team like now SKy having such a huge budget compared to the other teams and dominating these races like this....

they pay a tax (and it's hefty) but NA sports teams can certainly go over. The NBA is a good example of that right now since it's in that season right now.

Great race today. Did not expect this!
But;
Can we please ban all powermeters during races? Oke for training, but it would be nice to see them all race instead of calculating, talking in their small microphones and looking at that damn display.

DNF for Cav.
Kittel missed the time cut by 12 seconds.
For the first time since 2007 the Tour will end without either of them winning a stage.
Before any says they can't climb, I doubt there's many here who could live with these sprinters on a climb.
