So here is my new project. After much research I decided to go for the new BMC teammachine.
For 3 reasons I decided to buy a SLR02 and strip it down and rebuild:
1) the sole UK distributor (Evans) don’t have any frame only in stock
2) it works out twice as expensive for the SLR01 (for a weight saving of about 130g) - £3,300 v £1,650 once I have sold then stripped off bits. Based on weight, my guess is that the fork is the same as SLR01
3) I wanted black (and I didnt like the frame colour of the frame only options).
The starting point is this:
So a little bit ‘porky’ but not surprised given the size of the tubes and the amount of integration built into the frame.
Aiming for 6.5kg (with pedals). Will post build list in due course.....

Di2 cables routed through bars. Now waiting for the Di2 kit to arrive from BMC (which has all of the grommets, etc).
Straight through seatpost also arrived...

Hi there, what is the size of the frame? 54 right?
I haven't put mine on the scale
If there is someone who has put a 47 on the scale please let me know the weight.
Mine so far is with 6,550 kg.
I will have some more weight with the new seatpost but the fork isn't cut yet.
Also new brakes on the way but it shouldnt change much.
Really looking good Beancouter

Mine is a 56; I haven’t found many other verified weights on either the SLR01 or SLR02.
The knight composite wheels I have come in quite a bit more than advertised. I suspect my farsport 38mm and a sram red cassette should give me about another 200g saving.

Rotate your bars down, they're rotated way too far up.

Beancouter, thank you for the help on the seatpost.
It allowed me to ride one of the best bikes I have riden so far.
I reckon you will have the same opinion, and yours, with the equipment you are putting on it will be fast, really fast
Thak you once again, for the good price, for the attention and most of all for the honesty.
Cheers and please put that beauty on the roAD :p
Just on quick question, do you think this seatpost willfit in on the Radmachines as well?
I have a guy asking about it on my seatpost advert on ebay.
Thank you

My pleasure - think I read somewhere that they are the same shape. Given your local dealer has been difficult, let me ask the Uk importer.

Evans cycles have told me they aren’t compatible - you may want to double check though

All finished. Bang on 6.8kg
About another 300g should come off with saddle, lighter wheels, top cap, pedals and trimming post / steerer.
Would also like an THM M3 but may have to wait until next year.
Not a WW but not bad given the amount of carbon in the frame and the integration built in. For reference, based on my calcs the SLR01 frame is about 140g heavier in a 56.
First ride this morning and it’s great!!!
