The latest issue of bicycling had the Ti wipperman/connex chain at $400 which i think is a lot of cash but more importantly to me is what the wear rate is on a Ti chain as compared to a steel chain. If it will last as long as 15 or so $30 chains then it is not really an expensive chain. Does any one know the aproximate miles such a chain will last?

I would guess that Ti wears much faster, just like the cassettes do. But I still think the lengthening is the deciding factor when to change a chain and that might just be less than the one of a normal steel chain. Then it should be fine for some 3,500 to 4,000 miles.
