Joined with the chinese carbon wheels owners club. They are 60mm clinchers but still with reasonable weight 730g and 950g for front and rear respectively.
Stiffness seems to be ok too, dialed the brakes to 1mm from the rim and hammered them up to 55kmh on a flat. Didn't notice any brake rub.

I also managed to grab a Rotor 3D+ crank. Im going to install it with Rotor BB cups, will be interesting to see how so thin bearings hold up.
Anyway, what chainrings should I choose? I want something that shifts nice and is stiff. Stronglight seems to be rated highly in terms of shifting, but how stiff are the regular/chrono rings compared to DA7900 rings?

Hold the phone, a mass produced 41/30 bearing, I didn't know it existed. As a Trek owner, my interest is piqued.

Anyways, 7900 rings seems to be amog the best, people seem to like Praxis very much.

7900 rings doesn't match the Rotor crank very well, but i'll give it a try once the crank arrives. I must admit though, that I haven't been able to remove the big ring from the DA crank. I tried once briefly - the out pin doesn't allow the chain ring to move enough.

This year started with Planet X cnc brakes, the Ultegras are going to my second bike. Should receive my Rotor BB cups today so I can install my 3D+ crank and q-rings.

For a guy that has been without a road bike for a few years, it looks like you have been keeping in touch on what works well. You have done a great job on the Scott. A Foil is on my list also...

My name is Scott and I ride a Scott and approve this message!

I just installed Rotod 3D+ cranks today and as I didn't have any instruction with them, so had to figure out it myself.

1. I took the NDS crankarm and and turned the preload nut against the crankarm, so it wouldn't turn anymore.
2. I loosened the preload nut about 1/2 turns. A small gap opened between the preload nut and crankarm.
3. Installed the cranks.
4. Torqued the crankarm bolts to the spindle as recommended by Rotor.
5. The preload nut was too tight to turn it by hand. Using pliers I turned the preload nut in small increments back against the NDS crankarm until the crank were spinning freely.

I still can't use the two highest gears when being on the lower chainring on the front, the chain is rubbing againts the big chainring. I think I can space the DS crank more out with spacers, but that would give me only one gear back. One options would be to modify the preload nut by making it little thinner. But as I dont need those gears anyway, I will first see how the Rotor 4130 bearings will hold up.

I have precisely the same bike which I've been thinking about upgrading to Ultrgra di2,

Could you put up a few pics of your BB plug and the hole behind your head tube? I'd like to see how that worked out. (Any other pics - wire routing, grommets, etc would also be welcome).

I assume you were able to squeeze the internal junction block into the BB before reinstalling the plug?

Any other advice for this job?

Thanks,

Brandon

900mm, 650mm and 2pcs 400mm
You could get away with shorter ones, but it wasn't worth the potential extra hassle for me.
If you need anything else, a pm will yield in a quicker reply.
