Adaptive training apps (TrainerRoad/Join/Enduco, etc)

A light bike doesn't replace good fitness.

Hi all,

I have been using the adaptive training schedule from the app Join.cc (based in NL) for the past year. For those unfamiliar: The app creates a training schedule based on the amount of hours you set yourself as available, and adjusts if you skip a workout or change your availability. As my schedule is changing quite regularly, it's quite handy to get quick updates on what's the best workout to do next for the set timeframe. Not too fond of their "taper" though (had some weird experiences with that lately), and their analytics are not too great IMO.

I've worked with Enduco (German I believe) for running a few years ago and know they have a cycling-side as well, I recently read you can also combine both sports in a single plan. On this forum I've seen some comments about TrainerRoad (US based) being able to do the same thing as well but have not worked with that myself.

I found some older topics mentioning these apps, but I'm sure they've evolved over time. Does anyone have recent experience with these, or other apps in the same field?

Cheers!

Hey! I’ve used Join.cc too and found it handy for adapting to schedule changes, though the tapering issues you mentioned are a bummer. If you’re open to exploring other options, check out the BetterMe calisthenics workout app. It offers personalized workout plans with flexibility, like Join.cc, but focuses on bodyweight exercises, which might complement your cycling and running routine.
