I’ve had a few outings on the indoor velodrome and I'm hoping to concentrate on it a bit more seriously over the winter months. With that in mind I want to upgrade my aluminium box rim wheels to something a bit quicker. I’m not sure what events I would choose to ride but I’m certainly not an all out sprinter and I reckon I lack the focus for very long bunch events so maybe a bit of an all rounder!
So these are the wheelsets I’m looking at, all tubs but I’m open to more experienced opinions:
1. 60mm spoked F/R
2. 90mm spoked F/R
3. 60mm F & 90mm R spoked
4. Trispoke carbon F/R
5. Trispoke F & disc R
All comments and advice welcome. Cheers.

If money isn't an issue, 5 is the obvious choice. Or full disc F/R.liam7020 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 11:42 amI’ve had a few outings on the indoor velodrome and I'm hoping to concentrate on it a bit more seriously over the winter months. Personally I'd go #1
Sounds like you don't have a lot of track experience at the mo, so I'd go with something that is replaceable or repairable and doesn't require much of a thought upgrade to your riding technique
Plenty of used options come up on uk track cycling Facebook page.

Thanks for the comments guys. I am a total track novice but have over 30 years TT experience riding discs and deep section rims. That said I wouldn't want to rock up to the track with very posh wheels only to look like a total pilgrim! At the moment I thinking towards the 60/90 spoked as a decent compromise - I can build them up myself so it would be easy to replace broken spokes or re-true in the event of a prang.

I would also stick with the 60cm front and rear. Discs and tri-spokes are a little faster, but the extra cost isn't really worth it for regular use and some people think the added stiffness makes them easier to slide out.
You didn't mention tires. I assume you are getting tubulars.
(FYI, I have 45 years of track racing experience)
