Heavy flat bar bike

A light bike doesn't replace good fitness.

Hello I am currently riding a 13.5kg flat bar bike on bike paths and the road. Avg speed is 25km over 20km mostly flat.
I am new to cycling so fitness isn't there
My question is if i was on a road bike say 8kg would my avg speed by higher?
Regards

Probably yes, but not primarily because of the weight.

Your speeds will increase if you can get in a more aggressive / lower body position because aerodynamic drag is the main force slowing you down.

Your speeds will also likely increase because road bikes typically have narrower tires with less rolling resistance.
