So today Garmen annouced they they've acquired Tacx.

Obviously no big updates straight away, but does any care to guess what the horizon holds?

I personally just bought a Neo 2 and am in the market for a computer for my bike, easy choice now brand wise.

I don’t expect major changes on the hardware side. I do expect the software side of things to see major changes. This is an opportunity for Garmin to create its own training platform, something more advanced than what Tacx (or Wahoo) currently offers.

I think DCRainmaker summed up different point of views quite well. At the end of the day, the end user most likely sees only benefits from increased competition in indoor training solutions.

This is going to help Tacxs North American distribution a lot. I can see Garmin putting Tacx on all their cycling specific gadgets and move deeper into non-gps hardware.
