The field will be way faster than you think it will be. That I can assure you. Good luck and have fun!

How was the race? My first race I got my ass handed to me on a platter! It was very humbling and gave me some good incentive to work harder at gaining some fitness.

Hello I was 10th of the 66 riders. I ended 4th in the second group, 50 seconds behind the first group. Not bad 7riders in front of me are 10years younger as me en 2 of them are older but raced more. Not bad for a guy like me at 42 years old en a little bit overweight
6 rounds from the end, 3 riders took a jump and I was the 4th rider. To bad they didn't go further with the action and the peleton came back.
3rouds from the end, 6 riders took a jump and the guy in front of me couldn't take the wheel and the gap was to big for me, so I decided to not go after them in my own and stayed in the 2 group.
it was a race of 43km and 175 heightmeters.
My normalized power in the race was 297watts and IF 1,139 with a average heart rate of 166 and a max of 179bpm.
Friday I'm gonna race again. It is a parcours with 560 heightmeters at 53km, not my thing with my 85 kg but I give it a try and see where I and up.

Good effort on a first race!
Hopefully you'll start to work out what food and preparation strategies work for you - everyone has their own ones!

Dimples: Laminar flow separates more easily from a surface than turbulent air. Delayed separation reduces drag. A groove perpendicular to the flow triggers laminar to turbulent conversion. A spinning object uses dimples so an edge always faces the flow.
