It's not cheating, it's another kind of behaviour.
Sit on a bunch of rides, and at the end of the month upload them together or simply switch to another country for most of the month and then switch back to your actual country right at the end of the month to 'win' the leaderboards. Do this at the last moment possible so nobody else has enough time to catch you.

All seems rather pathetic.

I’m lost for words. It is pathetic and mind boggling to see people put so much effort to inflate their head.

Do they actually win anything in real life? I don't know why they are putting that much effort in that. haha

I don't like other cyclists these days. If you see me out on the road don't bother waving to me, I won't be waving back.

Did not know this existed. I just now looked at some of the segment leaderboards for the month and week. With me at the top! Yay me! :P

Seriously...who cares about the month. It seems most people only look at all-time and maybe the year. With me waaaaaay down the list. lol

Exactly, who cares about the month or week?

Seriously?

You care about monthly mileage totals on...Strava?

Wow.

Go actually race your bike.

Whatever floats their (and your) boat. All good IMHO. If it’s not illegal, it’s legal.

Don’t worry about all the douchetards and bronies our there, just enjoy your bike....

Yes it's sad, we're getting a little of this here. It's anti-competitive actually.

On the plus side, the guys doing that out themselves as really caring too much about something that's supposed to be just a bit of fun :)

Another thread that supports my decision to dump Strava a while back.
Not that I was ever competing for anything on there, but more that I am become less and less social and have less and less tolerance for people with such behavior.

Strava is great when you’re not following anyone.

I follow my friends to see what they are up to. It works great for that. Do I care if a friend rides more miles in a week or month? No.

I do not waste my time on Strava. I also do not understand why you would worry that someone is cheating. Everyone cheats, why would it be different on Strava?

I'm not a good enough rider to cheat, so I just do my own thing. As long as I improve me, then I don't care about anyone else.
