Power Cranks can be an exellent tool, but you need to know how to use them. Like HR moniters, if they are not setup and calibrated to the individual (ie regular Max HR tests, etc) and you know what the read out means, if the correct steps are not taken then they may be nothing more than an expensive pair of cranks.

Talk to your local Sports Institute (the Govt supported one) or Pro team that uses them and see if they will help you out witj the setup and monitering, if so they can a brilliant training tool.
Success is how far you you bounce back up after being knocked down

Cyco powercranks is not the same as powermeters :-)

I was thinking of the SRMPowerCranks (power meter type). These I have seen before and would be interested to try. I suspect they would work well as a training tool, but could be a bit scetchy on the first couple of road rides
