Hi All

I don't know if it was a bit of dehydration I suffered from yesterday or a sudden issue with my saddle, but just wanted to see if anybody else had experienced the same symptom as it's never happened to me before. I did a hard group ride (one particularly strong friend seems to destroy us every ride), around 135km with 2700m elevation drinking max 2.5 bottles (avg temp around 15c). I did pee a few times, but the first time I did during the ride it stung like hell and gave me a real fright. Even today the following day I'm still experiencing some discomfort. I guess seeing as I did pee during the ride would indicate I wasn't dehydrated? As for the saddle, I have been using the Power for years now but have moved every other bike over to the Aeolus, besides the bike I was using yesterday. I haven't ridden this particular bike for months. It just seems strange to me that I have used this saddle in the past for many long rides and never suffered from pissing molten lava :noidea:

Well, you won't win any points for story structure.

Sounds like something is wrong with your goods, dude. I'm not sure pain when you pee has anything to do with a saddle. You should probably go see a doc. For cereal.

Ah well, I guess we can't all be literary geniuses.

From what I could follow of the story (try bullet points, next time, BTW), I'd see a doctor ASAP.

I did experience something similar recently and attributed it to having my junk in a really bad position in my bibs for too long and needing to pee for too long . I knew I needed a readjustment down there but there wasn't anyplace good to stop on the trail to adjust and pee.

Seriously, get some tests from your doc to rule things out.

That said, saddles do get old, sag, or wear out. Bibs that stil look good could have lost a lot of their padding. I had some saddle issues last year and tried 5 different saddles. I just got a pair of Assos shorts and they were a revelation. They added hours of exta comfort to my riding.

You definitely didn’t drink enough. 2.5 bottles in maybe 4.5 hours moving time if you were going fast...that’s it?

Not saying that’s why you experienced pain, but it would certainly keeping you from riding faster/harder.

Thanks guys, all is well now. Maybe it was a combination of factors...not getting out of the saddle enough that day, bit of dehydration, junk (possibly) got used to the different saddle I''ve been using on the other bikes.

Yes I'm trying to drink more on rides, but for some reason always struggle with it especially when I'm riding hard trying to keep up with the group!
