What would you like to see on Weight Weenies?
What could be improved and which features are you missing?

Tell us your opinion. :D

The site is very good, but I would like to see the listings section split into a roadbike and mountainbike section. It is very difficult to see what is for roadbikes and what is for mountainbikes.

Thanks for a good site!!

A what's new page or some notification of the addition of new weights e.g. in the last day or so would be excellent

That's often proposed.

The problem is, that there are components where you can't say exactly "this is 100% road" and "this is 100% MTB", like
seatposts, headsets, saddles or for example an 108 mm bottom bracket:
is this still MTB? or already road? or do both worlds use it?
Normally an entry can be easily recognized by the size field or an additional comment.
How about a little field where you can select if you want road, MTB or all parts to be viewed?

We even started to do something like that one year ago.
We'll implement this within the next few days.

New entries added within the last 2 days are now marked with a Image symbol.

We could also use this symbol:
Image
Takes up a little bit more width on the screen, but looks nicer.

What do you think?

We got this email yesterday:
Dear Weenies,

Great site ! One thing that I'd like to see added to your web pages
is the ability to filter out by YEAR just like you have done w/your
drop down box for grams, pounds, etc.

Keep up the good work and keep posting on MTBR.com.

Thanx,
= Mike R. =

Feature has been added. :D

I had to change a lot, so if you find any bugs, please let me know.

The new icon is fine. As you said smaller and keeps the page space more available for the info.

Great job again!

Road frames and road parts (when different than mtb parts) in separate categories.

OK, how should this be done?
I'd propose the following:

700C and 650C (Triathlon) road frames in one new category.
Cyclocross and Hybrid/Touring/Trekking 700C frames also in one new category.

Forks are divided into rigid forks and suspension forks, both including road and MTB forks.

Separating other parts is in my opinion not necessary, because -as I mentioned some post above- in 95% an entry can be easily determined by the size field or the additional comment.
It's also often not meaningful, because until now many categories just don't have enough different entries for a new category.

Regarding frames, a different category "road frames" seems appropriate.
Regarding parts, I suggest simply adding a column "type" specifying: road, mtb or both.

BTW: Great site... I refer lots of friends here :D

Though triathletes spend a lot of our time on the bike, we use some different pieces of equipment. For example, aerobars (i.e., clip-on and integrated), forward seat posts or even more goofy stuff I only see triathletes using; like strange drinking systems. Profile and Syntace make some aero water bottles for mounting between aerobars. XLab, Profile, Minoura, etc. have rear-mounts (of the saddle) for water.

Just some thoughts.

Thanks for all your work on the site; it rocks.

Best regards,

-gc
