Where is the forum for "Everything Wheels" to be found?

I have an active conversation going but only see new listings in the "notifications"
drop down at the upper right corner of a home page...

thanks

Wheels & Road have been merged into one board.

We're working to re-organize this forum, sorry about the dust. Hopefully you are able to continue your conversation.

Good change.
In the past, it was confusing if a tire topic would be in the road or in the wheels.
Keep wheels conversation with in the category is a good simplification.

As for further simplification,
I think "Commuting" should be its own forum rather than a sub forum of "Cyclocross / Gravel / Touring" though.
Actually, "Touring" doesn't even fit in with the "Cyclocross / Gravel".
It's more like "Touring / Commuting" vs "Cyclocross / Gravel".

Can you please undo the Wheels & Road merge?

Having all the wheels stuff on the first page of "Road" causes many
interesting Road topics to be pushed to another page thus "vanishing"
from a brief look.

If the main problem was that "Wheels" stuff has been posted (too often)
in the wrong forum:
put the more specific forum before the generic forum so people don't
just post in the first forum they see which might "match" their topic.

Hi claus,

I feel similar to you, having observed exactly the same pushing/vanishing effect. You are the 2nd user to bring this up.

I see three options:

A) Old model:
Road
Subform: Wheels

B) Current model:
Road + Wheels merged

C) New model:
Dedicated Road board
Dedicated Wheels board

The issue with dedicated forum (C) is that a broad "Wheels" board opens it up for Gravel/Road/MTB/CX/Track/etc. This would muddy the dedicated wheels forum for the purists. The drawback of the original subforum model (A) is as Hexsense mentioned. And the drawback of (B) is as you mentioned.

I will have a chat with the admin/mods and see what makes sense.
In the meantime, everyone's opinions are welcome. I am listening and I will REPRESENT THE PEOPLE.

We have created a new WHEELS (Road) focused board. The most active wheels topics have been moved from the Top-10 Pages in Road, along with a few historic tubular topics. The stale topics beyond Top-10 will remain in Road, but if I missed anything that looks 'active', anyone out there is free to flag and we can move it over.

We are now working thru what to do with Road Tires.

Option A: Merge Tires into WHEELSETS & TIRES (Road)
Option B: Make a separate Tires (Road) board
Option C: Continue to keep Tire Talk bundled in Road.

I am leaning towards A because:
- Tires is an important focus point with equipment
- There is plenty of overlap between wheels talk and tires in regards to mounting and interplay
- Promoting "Wheels" to 'Wheelsets' captures spokes, hubs, and the entire system as well
- Tires complete the wheel set system.... sorta.... this part can be debated between Option B vs Option A.

Current drawback with Option C (how we have it now) is all the historic tire threads are buried 5-10 pages deep.
