that "perfect" gravel frameset for 2025
Moderator: Moderator Team
^ The front centre is relatively short too, not my cup of tea, but 65mm drop might be okay with 30-584 GP5Ks.
FWIW, I had one of their Sporks a few years ago and it was well made and everything fitted with no problems, however they test to MTB standards so comfy the fork is not; a ShockStop stem fixed that.

Nice work! You can also add Cube nuroad 2025 (2x clearence 50mm) and Ridley ASTR (47mm clearence with 2 by and 52mm with single chainring)
press-fit gravel frames (Ridley ASTR RS, Cube Nuroad, and other) listed in previous long gravel list on page 2 - link to post

What is this strange thing people have about pressfit.
If the pressfit is bad, the frameset is generally bad.
Gluing in an aluminium thread (assuming the frame is carbon) doesn't make the finishing of the frameset any better. In fact, it allows the manufacturere to be even more lax with their tolerances.
This is why you can put a cheap shimano dura ace ht2 pressfit bb in a giant frameset and it will last for 5 years smoothly.
Sorry, appreciate that might be a bit of a derail, but there are so many more important factors to what might make your "perfect frameset" that by getting rid of them you've got rid of basically all of the best gravel framesets (the lightest, fastest, with most clearance and best geometry).

^ Pressfit is okay if and only if it's done properly and QC is good, and provided you have the extra tools needed - or are prepared to pay (and trust) someone else to install and remove the BB parts. Threaded BBs are more tolerant, and a lot of us already have the necessary tools, including me. There are very, very few people (in fact only one) whom I'd trust to work on my bike other than myself, so sticking with threaded BBs makes things easier; YMMV.
I'm surprised there is no mention of the 3T Extrema Italia in this thread.
Sure, it's super expensive but it ticks a lot of boxes:
Sure, it's super expensive but it ticks a lot of boxes:
- 57mm tire clearance, so no problem for a 2.25" MTB tire (IIRC, the guys from BicycleStation even fitted a 2.35 Thunder Burt on the 3T 29mm internal rim)
- UDH
- 1099gr frame (size 54) + 420gr fork
- BB386EVO, this is fine with a thread togheter BB. Big enough for DUB spindle
- 44T claimed max chainring size, so maybe a 46t will fit
The geometry is a bit funky with a very short reach?Aradell wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 1:05 pmI'm surprised there is no mention of the 3T Extrema Italia in this thread.

The price makes it a no-go for me at the moment (5500€ for the frameset). But I hope in 2025 we will see some similar frames released at a better price point.

Yeah, now that you mention it. The reach seems really short.
I was just surprised to see the 57mm clearance, UDH, nice tube shapes in a carbon gravel bike.
Makes me hopefull to see some of these frames being released in 2025.
