Curently I am upgrading my current gravel bike to Di2 and have whole GRX RX600 groupset free. As I was using gravel for commuting as well. I have two options.
First: to risk even more for my updated gravel to be stolen, and sell the groupset. Currently in this location risk to be stolen is small.
Second: to get some cheap gravel frame and set it up with this groupset, to have dedicated commuter / muddy winter bike. Also for deep winter when fingers get frosty and is better to shift mechanical than Di2. as you can feel the shifters more.
I have looked for used goods (frame+fork), but is very limited. Does anybody have any recomendation for new frame+fork? Aluminium is enougf. I am from EU. If there is something from China, I assume it will probably be carbon. Should be cheap and reliable.
Any recomendation?
Cheap but reliable gravel frame+fork

Second that, this frame is great and almost indestructible I have the Planet X Free-Ranger version and it can do anything I throw at it (or any stone the trail throws at it, haha)

Mine has functioned well as a gravelbike, TT setup and now in the commuter disguise.
A crash caused a crack in the top tube and for the repair the carbon expert checked the whole frame, while obviously not up to the finishing standard of (much) more expensive frames he was positively surprised.
Only things I encountered were a 5 sec sandpaper thing in the headtube and a little irregularity in one of the brake mounts in the fork. 5 min work.
