spoke to Redley dealer yesterday. Indeed, its possible to order frame in basic colours without having to pay extra 400-500 eur for custom paintwork. Frame gonna be deliverd before christmas.
It is not possible to test Astr in the wild. Around january dealers will get showroom models, but again, no test riding option availible.
About tire clearence it is unclear that 50mm tires will fit with 2-by built, probably not.
I really like Astr and it is always nice to have official dealer nearby, but lack of internal storage, fender mounts and only 47mm clearence in 2-by is big no go for me, also considering that frame cost 2300 eur even without seatpost
Hi!
I will test 2x clearance when I get the bike. Grifn/grifn rs I ran effective 46mm tires with 2x. Tight around front deraillieur but still worked good. 105di2/Ultegra di2. So lets hope that 50mm works

Built a Astr RS Force XPLR today so can't comment on the x2 clearance but frame seems really nice. Front end slimmer than I thought and down tube classic Kammtail as an Madone from 2014
Looking forward to get mine next month

massive clearance vs GRIFN and GRIFN RS.. mine is built up and 40mm looks too skinny
Will test with some 50mm studded tires to see clearance soon.

Does anyone know if the handlebar from the Grifin is compatible with the ASTR, like narrow but not 36cm narrow! I've asked Ridley but not had a response.
You can chose the 38cm bar with the Astr.

Thanks but for I'm looking for the 42 or 40cm - same as I ride on the road. Wouldn't want anything narrower for the terrain I ride
Hi,
Ridley still has the "non aero" cockpit with 40cm or 42cm bars that fits on this frame. The Nimbus PRO is the full fledge aero model with only 36 and 38 widths. Should be able to build up a RS or non RS with the bars you want just fine. I have the 100/400 on my X-Night RS and they are very good. They also fit fine on the ASTR RS + non RS bike.

Its just official statement. A lot of gravel bikes like Grail or Crux can fit bigger tyres
