Long story short: I will be moving from road to gravel. In 2025 I'll do the Traka 200 and I need a racey gravel bike. Initially had my eyes set on a Rose Backroad FF. Good value for the specs, but that bike misses a bit of personality for me. Started looking for alternatives, really likes Fara as a brand but they don't have UDH frames.
Long story short: I ended up doing somethinf completely different. Bought a Tideace Noah frame and will built that up for my gravel race bike.
Why this frame?
- UDH
- 50mm clearance
- In frame storage
- Relatively racey geo. In size 54 it has 400 reach and 562 stack
- Good value, 825 USD unpainted
- Some other members on Chinertown built some nice bikes with this frame and seem to be quite happy
I will be sharing my built here. And everyone else feel free to jump in about this frame.

My bike is the top one and the bike below is a nice chap I actually bumped in to when we were both doing the British gravel champs. Both super happy with the frame.
I am also doing the Traka 200 next year, see you there!

Haha, we definitely need to do a Tideace meet-up at the Traka with everyone riding one .gloscherrybomb wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 11:06 amMy bike is the top one and the bike below is a nice chap I actually bumped in to when we were both doing the British gravel champs. @Uberflo: looking forward to your built! The integrated handlebar of Tideace seems to have almost no flare (?). I guess that works for you? For gravel I can imagine that smaller at the hoods for straights (=aero) and in the drops wider for stable cornering works nicely. So I am more looking at those kind of set-ups at this point.

Yeah ill be going to traka200 myself probably. Thats the plan atleast
Ill probably get HG008 handlebar in 400mm with 120 stem and see how it goes.
Gonna build it up with GRX825, I have a 55mm Lightbicycle wheelset paired with specialized pathfinders 42mm.
Still need to decide which T47 bb I want. What are you guys getting?
Edit; Just ordered with Eddy.
FM-GV201 NOAH size 58 > Color option 55.
HB008 handlebar 400mm - 110mm
HB008 seatpost 400mm

i'm joining the tideace chain gang
like OP, after weeks of deliberation finally decided i don't want to wait ad eternum for other brands to come up with everything i want (cannondale keeps playing games ), more so when it's already available at an affordable price like the NOAH
just ordered one in size 54, custom color 61 (white chameleon), black decals and downtube logo facing the floor enve style
this is my first gravel bike but after reading a lot online, i'm going for the mullet t-type setup:
- red e1 shifters
- gx eagle transmission rd
- gx eagle transmission 10-52t cassette
- xx eagle transmission chain
- red xplr cranks 42t
- nextie agx45 wheels with dt240 hubs
- tyres: schwalbe g-one rs (45mm) or tufo thunderos (48mm might be too wide on the nexties)
- powermeter: favero mx pedals or quarq... decisions
on paper at least this is a RAD bike, it should be around 8kg, let's see how the experiment turns out
see you at the traka bois

Hehe welcome to the club!
Seems like the majority of us are all in the same boat, can't decide what to get. So many options. Most are expensive and still not 100% satisfied. Might aswell build it up the way u want it with a cheaper frameset. On paper looks really good, can't wait to ride it and see how she goes!
Most of you guys are on SRAM tho, I like my Shimano. Have all the required tools to maintain the bike and don't wanna mesh around.
@akira11 I've also looked at the Favero MX pedals. I have the Favero DUO on my road bike. But theyre a hefty price. They cost as much as the frameset lol. I haven't decided for powermeter. Might wait for BlackFriday sales.

thank you
yeah, value for money this frame is pretty unbeatable. although i sense many brands getting up to date in 2025-26, but who knows what will be the gravel trend by then
i'm not extremely happy with the noah geo though, the huge 400 reach will force me to ride a 70-80mm stem, which i don't love the look of tbh - i don't know how the handling will feel like but i guess shorter-than-road stems are the norm in most gravel bikes
this will be my first time with AXS after riding road/mtb mechanical many years and a bit of di2
according to many, the main issue with sram is the front shifting which is obv no problemo in this setup, so it should work perfectly fine

main advantage i see with the favero mx is they could potentially become my only PM for all my bikes and then keep things simpler with only one pair of shoes/cleats... in theory this is bliss, but not sure if i like the idea of having to swap them everytimeMrRolandos wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 10:14 am@akira11 I've also looked at the Favero MX pedals. Ah yeah, I ride with 110 or 120mm stem on my road bikes, gonna be the same for gravel. The geo seems really good for me. I'm really tall, with 196cm and crazy long legs at inseam of 98cm+. My seat height is always 90.3cm, I think with 58cm frame and 400mm seatpost it should be possible to get it but we will see. Usually I ride 61. The drop is always ridiciously big! A shorter stem is nice for quick responsiveness. But I always need longer stems to get the reach I need an the aero position!akira11 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 10:43 amthank you

Mehh having to remove pedals before every ride etc. is a big no go for me. On road bikes I ride with white shoes with Look cleats. Much better then SPD and it's gonna be a pain to keep white shoes clean with gravel/offroad. I got offroad black shoes, which is better for the type of riding. Haven't decided what pedals I wanna use. The Favero's are on my list. Otherwise I'll go for Look X-Track Race Carbon probably. They are pretty much the same as my XT pedals just a bit bigger coverage and look nice.
Should be fine. Reach is almost the same so opted for same handlebars. Stack is a bit lower but different head angle. Can always use a spacer, my road bike is slammed.
@Akira11 welcome to the club . Where are you from?
If we all are going to the Traka somehow we really need to make a Tideace group photo haha.
As for the power meter - I'm exactly in the same dilemma. I reallllly like my Favero road pedals, but the price for the MX ones is a bit steap. Financially it's more interesting to go for the Quarg PM with the Red/Force/Rival groupset (approx 400eur extra cost?).
But then again, I sometimes go on a holiday trip and rent a bike, would be nice to be able to use the Favero's then. Also; I have one very cheap winter bicycle that I run with it rains etc. Could really use the Favero's there. In short, while typing this, it seems I have convinced myself to go for the Favero's haha.

quick update in case anybody else is planning to order from tideace
they just confirmed my order and the wait times are:
5-10 days for painting the frame
5-15 days for shipping
plus they have 7 days of bank holidays now so i should expect mine to arrive around mid november, plenty time to source parts - the fun starts now

On the point SRAM vs Shimano: I think if you want to have a gravel only bike, SRAM is clearly a step ahead of Shimano.
The main issue with SRAM is there front derailler. For a 1x set-up there is no FD, so you remove the biggest SRAM weakness.
If you intend to use the bike on the road as well, I can see a rationale for GRX. If it's gravel only, I see very limited rationale for GRX. But still, these choices are all personal and everyone should simply chose what they feel best about.

I plan on using it also as a winter bike. So yeah also road usage, I do all the work on all the bikes myself. Got all the tools I need. SRAM usage is all different with DOT etc. Will be running a R8100 crank with 50/34 and GRX 825 with probably a 11-34. Also the shifting from SRAM is completely different in 2x setup. Something I might not get used tooRequiem84 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 11:00 amOn the point SRAM vs Shimano: I think if you want to have a gravel only bike, SRAM is clearly a step ahead of Shimano.
