Will try those. Ti-Parts did send the wrong ones at first.SimonWatts wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 3:47 pmWhat titianium axles are you going to run for the XTR pedals?
Lets see how long they last. WW forum with mixed experiences.

Cross the Ostro Gravel off your list - other than being harsh, seatpost slips. It's a very frequent issue (though the new Ostro road has a different system). Had issues with mine anytime I did a long gravel ride despite changing wedge, using tape, threadlocker and all sorts of trickery. Sold mine after doing 50k of Dirty Reiver on a saddle that was 4cm too low, that was the nail in the coffin.voicycle wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 11:56 amI totally missed the ASTR launch. Tempted to line one up as my next purchase - I'd been eyeing the Ostro Gravel even after reports of a harsh ride but finally knocked it off the list once it became clear that 52mm clearance is the new standard. ASTR looks very like a next-gen Ostro Gravel!
Where's this from? (Not so concerned about the clamp as it's probably easy enough to replace with something as simple as a zip tie - more wondering if there's another thread/forum with more detailed discussion about the bike).
Or I could just wait til next Spring and there will probably be another half dozen new bikes on the market that meet these requirements...
Ouch, didn't know about the seatpost issue @robeambro, how frustrating!
It's a shame since Factor were so great about embracing the whole gravel-race genre and clearly put some resource into R&D, only to end up with basically all the riders that helped them make it jumping ship once they actually had to ride it. I hope they don't give up on it, because there's a great bike just a revision or so away. And all their competition are scrambling to get up to 52mm tire clearance anyway so it's not like Factor are the only ones that need an urgent update.

That looks super interesting. Were you able to gather more info on that bike?akira11 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 5:29 pmof course cannondale would keep playing mind games with me as soon as I've bought the tideace frameset
a new supersix gravel (some call it the new superX version) has been spotted at the gravel world champs this past weekend
from what i can see, it has pretty much everything i'm looking for: UDH, huge clearance (and looks amazing!)
here's hoping they went for a threaded BB just like the regular supersix has
if it ends up matching my requirements i will most likely end up swapping the tideace for this
yes, I've started a dedicated thread to this bike: viewtopic.php?p=1895750hansotto089 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:28 amThat looks super interesting. It's very nice and I'm a bit of a Cannondale fanboy, but a £600 frame versus a £3000 frame is not really comparable.

Very close to ordering a Lauf rigid, once I figure out the sizing. With new Red, it's such a deal, and the company seems to be thoughtful and good to work with. Goal is to train during the winter and do some NorCal/Nevada/maybe Oregon races next year. Any reasons I shouldn't, or better options at that price range?
Super happy with mine still. I also couldn't find better value for money when I was looking a few months ago.twoangstroms wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 3:00 pmVery close to ordering a Lauf rigid, once I figure out the sizing. Not sure I can make the Lauf fit. Coach recommends 378-385 frame reach and 550-570 frame stack. Fit weenies, have at it!

Looks very fast. But its a prototype. They claim to start selling in the Spring 2025 and price "We anticipate builds to start from £8,000 at launch - SRAM Rival AXS & Parcours FKT wheels."
I wish some big brand would bike like this

A Dutch bike shop just launched their new gravel bike.
They specialise in beach racing, so their previous bikes were MTB-frames they converted to drop bar and rigid fork, with 60mm (2.35" slicks) for racing on the beach. This new bike is a both a gravel bike and a beach race bike, but they needed it to run the same 60mm slicks with enough clearance to spare.
The website (only in Dutch)
https://stormsports.nl/collections/fiet ... gravelbike
So stats:
The frame might be available straight from the Chinese manufacturer in the future, this was the case for some of their previous bikes. But this frame might be exclusive to them.

So stats:
- 60mm clearance (slick) on a 33mm internal rim. So no problem for smaller MTB tires
- UDH
- Steep ST (74.5°) and slack HT (68.9°)
- Pretty high stack number
- 27.2mm round post
- 48 tooth chainring clearance
- Only 3 sizes available, no XL
- Pretty hard to get, if you're not close to the Netherlands
- Electronic groupsets only
